...by downloading your avatar onto your PC and then uploading it here to the Shrine server?

For some reason, Wikipedia always takes a long time to load, and every time I click on the "jump to newest message" dealie in a thread that has one of your messages in it, the forum sits there for 20 seconds while it loads your avatar and then jumps down to the newest message. It's a pain in the ass, to be frank, and if you uploaded your avatar to the site instead of linking to it, the problem would go away.

Thanks.

Turn on caching. It shouldn't do that EVERY time you click on it.

I have a 2 MB disk cache set up, and yes, it accepts images. I dunno what else I can do besides that.

2 megabyte disk cache?! Good lord, no wonder. Crank that up to about 50 MB or so. At the very least, put it at 10 MB. Granted, I don't agree with IE's "5% of your HD" rule (which ends up being like 5 GB on some HDs), but you should at least have a little bit more cache than 2 MBs.

I tried it before, it wouldn't upload for some reason; the problem has probably been fixed now. I'll work on it next time I post though.

i'm surprised phpbb would let people link avatars externally. i think leeching kind of sucks.

Why? Not every board adminstrator wants to provide webspace for people's avatars.

Not all external linking is leeching.

I can understand if it's from your own webspace. But not from another site, that would be leeching their bandwidth.

"The avatar must be less than 96 pixels wide and 96 pixels high"

It still won't upload. I keep getting this message. I don't know how to edit the size of images, so it's going to have to stay the way it is for now.

Sine, is there not a way to have it auto resize, or shrink down the avatar to meet requirements?

It's probably possible, but it would require a dependency on another application - probably the Gimp.

Anyway, since I doubt Seeker will ever do it, here it is. Seeker, download this, then upload it to the shrine:

the thing that's preventing his avatar from expanding to full size is a small MOD that puts a width property on the image. I guess it doesn't account for this when uploading pictures.

Bumping this so that Seeker grabs the pic.

Thanks, this should work now.
