for me.

i had some for awhile - silver hoops with balls - and that was cool...

for some reason i really want some sapphire square stud earrings. live out my pirate fantasies or something - even though i'm male, i've always loved gemstones and jewelry, and however "unmasculine" it is, i just wanna do it!

I don't really get piercings. Tattoos I'll do, but piercings just never appealed to me, I guess. Then there's lso the constant fear of having them get snagged on something.

I hate studs, especially on guys. All my lobe piercings and my tragus are captive rings, which is what I think you're talking about (hoops with balls). My cartlidge is a horseshoe (think horseshoe with a ball at each end) and my industrial is a long bar.

I really like the horseshoes. Very unisex, but just a little different than your average captive ring.

I wanna get a tattoo, but I cant decide on anything that Id want to have permananetly affixed to myself, so I stick with piercings. Unfortunately, my workplace doesnt allow any facial piercings..and apparently a couple that I have are "questionable" but with my hair you cant see them at work, so its cool.

i hope i'm more or less past the point where i care what people think of me. if i live the rest of my life catering to society, i'm never going to have any fun, besides which, i do really think our society (as all societies are) is rife with so many prejudices that i'm beyond the point where i want to think or care about them.

as far as being gay goes, i'm pretty much bi anyway.

actually, what i really think is that as people we are all so much more than any kind of labels people want to slap and/or throw at us, and i get a lot more out of life when i'm not trying to fit myself into any particular role. I definitely have liked my experiences with women better than those with men, but I really try not to turn down any experiences that are going to bring something new or interesting to my life.

i'm also definitely confused...but at this point in my life i'm too afraid of picking up anyone else's prejudices to be taking direction from people in that regard, so for now, i think things will be the way they will be...

:)

I dont think theres anything gay about wearing a stud earring. I just think that they look too "bling bling" on a guy.

Im not a girly girl by any means, and I dont wear anything but actual body jewelry. Gah, Id love to get my labret and eyebrow pierced...I think Im addicted. Which is also another reason Im kinda hesitant about getting a tattoo...you just cant stop. And Im trying to save every last bit of my femininity I have left lol

This is a fine little gender-confused conversation we are having.

I have 3 earrings. A stud and a small hoop in the left and a small hoop in the right. All are silver.

I like them. I've got the 1st in the left when I was 13, took it out when I was 15. Put it back in when I was 18. Got the 2nd hole in the left a few months later and got the 3rd hole a few months after that. I still wear them because I like how they look.

I've always operated under the basic principle that if our bodies were meant to have holes in them, there'd be holes there.

I see no need to go and put holes in my body that aren't already there.

I really dont know why I have them, except that I love they way they look, and I love the rush I get when getting it done.

"If God wanted us to fly, he'd have given us wings." I see nothing wrong with piercing or tattoos, as long as it's not excessive, but moderation applies to everything.

I'll got a 14 gauge in my left ear. I've been considering some tattoos, but still haven't figured out what I would settle with. My latest idea has been to put the Fullmetal and Hellsing emblems on each shoulder. (FMA one is the main circle used in his resurrection spell, and the Hellsing one is the symbol on Alucard's hand.)

The Hellsing symbol is badass. Haven't seen the FMP one, though.
I have the Blood Sin from Vagrant Story on my back, and Boba Fett's bantha skull on my left shoulder, and I still plan on getting some more. I was considering Cloud's wolf emblem (from Advent Children) for a while, but I've been having second thoughs. Besides, the Dirge of Cerberus logo looks much better. I just have to find a design wthout the wording.

I'll say. I plan on geting some more (see above). The hard part is finding an appealing design meaningful enough to have on your body for the rest of your life. Unless you're a millionaire and can afford the laser surgery.

Dude, you are my fucking hero. The Blood Sin! I want to go out and get it right now. But that would be stealing.

I would love to get "SEGA" across the knuckles of my left hand, and "NINTENDO" (somehow) across the knuckles of my right, but I'm not a fan of tattoos that are super-obvious.

Andrew, you might want to look at FMA's other rune that's on his brother's shoulder. It looks similar to the Blood Sin.

For anybody looking for a point of reference on these tattoos:

The Blood Sin (main symbol)
Alphonse's Soulbind Rune (I think) (Look at his shoulder at the upper-center) - Better, but smaller pic
FMA Resurrection Circle (in background)
Alucard's Sigil

I've wanted to try tattoos for awhile, but the permanency is a concern. I may go get some henna done by a professional body artist and see if I like it and want to pursue it further (how's THAT for a genderbend?) :). I'd love to try to get a multicolored yin-yang somewhere on one of my arms, but I don't know if henna can do color.

I love gender-confusion...

I'd like to get "The Brand" from Berserk on the back of my neck in the same place Guts has it. A tattoo of Megaman somewhere would be good too.

Freshman year i got a hoop ring in the cartiledge of my left ear (upper top part of the ear). It was fun, i grew my hair out and looked like a college kid should. When i started to interview for a job i cleaned up and took out the ring.

Hey I just wanted to say that I hope no one (especially Mental) took offense to my 'Yargh Matey' comment. I was just playing with Mental's original post wherein he said he didn't care if it was unmasculine.

I honestly don't have an opinion on piercings. I don't have any myself, only because they'd look ridiculous on myself.

Tatoo's, yeah I like them when done right. I'm looking at getting some Gaelic & Runic script on my inside forearm(s). Inspiration for when I'm rockclimbing. Still haven't decided on the message I want. Have to be sure when it's permanent!

I've had short hair since I was 16 so that was never a problem for me. Well, I tend to have long sideburns, but those are easy to trim. UPS doesn't allow men to wear earrings while working so I take them out in the morning and put them back in at night. :)

Yeah, probably could have left that out. It was just a phrase from some show or other that I remember. I put it down as it came up during a dinner party on Saturday.

A dinner party where out of 11 guys, only 3 of us were heterosexual. I had a blast, as did my roomate. The other guy was a jackass. Also, not that I feel the need to sound like some defender of Homosexuality or anything, but I also lived with two lesbians for 2 years. So, my sense of what I can and can't say kinda went out the window after that. After a while I could say anything to those girls, nothing fazed them.

"Not that there's anything wrong with that" is the catchphrase from the episode of Seinfeld when everybody thought Jerry and George were gay partners.

That's hardly stealing. I came across a bunch of people who had it when I was looking for a design without the surrounding text. Though in retrospect I wish I had gotten it sightly bigger and with the words.
