That's like saying Robert Downey Jr. is going to quit drugs for good.Kupek wrote:I think Lucas has said in the past that after Episode III, that's it.
What's your logic here? In 26 years he's made six movies, which includes a 16 year period between trilogies. That is certainly a large investment of time and effort, but it's not like he's been putting out a Star Wars movie every few years.SineSwiper wrote:Seriously, he's stuck with Star Wars forever. He doesn't even know how to many anything else. He might even try to make another movie, but he'll just be too engrossed in Star Wars to do anything else.
I always thought that was a cop-out to further his excuse that he would be ending the series. Before Episode 1, he was giving everybody the impression it was a 9-part series. Why the hell would he authorize books for 7-9 when he's not going to be making movies out of them?Torgo wrote:He's always mentioned that the films are about the rise and fall of Anakin.
Actually, the fact that he authorized books in the first place says to me that he won't be making episodes 7-9. Lucas is very sensitive about the main story (just humor me here), he has to approve of all books and TV shows (I'm assuming games as well) before they're published and considered to be a part of the extended universe. Nothing against Zahn's books; I enjoyed them, but it's all just glorified fan fiction. Notice that before Episode I there were little or no novels/comics dealing with Anakin or the Clone Wars. This is because Lucas wanted to do these stories himself.SineSwiper wrote:Why the hell would he authorize books for 7-9 when he's not going to be making movies out of them?
