So you're using it for tobacco? I think you're one of the few, the brave, people who use hookas for their intended purpose!

I work with a Syrian guy who likes smoking hookas. It's customary to do so during lunch in Syria.

I had a friend in highschool who bought a bong and smoked up some tobacco in front of the local mall... You should have seen the look of the mall security guard when he saw him hitting the bong. :shock:

Anyway, they kicked him out even though he wasn't smoking weed... the situation was hillarious though.

Yeah, such a bad stigma they have just because everybody smokes weed with it. Hell, you can't even roll up your own without everybody calling it a roach. Plus, there's other things you can smoke besides tobacco or weed.

The Jews call it "hookah", the Arabs call it "argili". I have two of them at my house - one that's 30 years old and another that has a nice, blue vase and silver neck that my mom got me from Syria - and my friends and cousins love it (I don't smoke). My mom got me cherry and melon flavoured tobacco from Syria and we have the standard two apple that's quite popular.

Apparently works really well when you mix the tobacco with hemp, but I don't smoke, so I wouldn't know :-)

My freshmen and sophomore year roommate used a hookah to smoke weed. I don't have the words to express how foul that thing smelled.

I use a homemade hookah for weed. My friend made one with a liquor bottle, a glass drill bit, some plastic tubing, and a hose connector. I found a tobacco store that sells real ones for reasonable prices. I might pick one up in the future.

Well I've come around on cannabis in my life and tend to see it as pretty harmless these days (and indeed most likely quite a positive thing medically), and I smoke it when I can, but unfortunately the price makes it prohibitive to pack bowls of that in a hookah. Besides which, with the volume of smoke that I get from my hookah, I don't even want to think about how incredibly destroyed I'd be if I smoked a full bowl of cannabis out of that.

Which is why you just put in a little bit with the smoke. That way, it's not a pure bong, but gives it a kick. We're not talking Cheech and Chong levels, here :-)

(Cheech wakes up, groggy as hell with eyes bleared shut, walks over to bathroom, unzips, starts taking a piss.

As he's occupied, he looks around the bathroom and sees the toilet on the other side of the bathroom. He opens his eyes a little, looks back in front of him, and sees that he's taking a piss in the laundry basket. "Awwwww, man!!!")

I can't remember which movie that's from, but it was HILARIOUS.

I've only had one <i>real</i> hangover in my life. It was massive, and I was miserable all day. The experience was profound enough to make me manage how much I drink to avoid a repeat experience. On that day, my roommate was watching Cheech and Chong movies on Comedy Central.

Trust me, you don't want to watch Cheech and Chong with a hangover.
