  • FFX TOO MANY BATTLES AAAAAGGGHHH!!!!

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

I suppose this is what I get for refusing to flee from anything. Dear LORD this is annoying. I can SO make a better game than this.

There's a reason flee is like the third square from where Tidus starts at.

Some of the random encounters are arguably harder than the bosses (King Behemoth, Master Tonberry, giant robots with lasers, etc).

I just beat Seymour first time and nothing has been terribly hard so far. I actually haven't seen what dying looks like yet. Wakka + T.K.O. ball + slayer overdrive + attack reels = beat everything in like three turns or less if i want. It's just annoying to do that 60 times per dungeon.

The game isn't meant to be very hard even if you run away from half of the battles. FFX actually has some reasonably interesting and difficult battles that is more than just putting bigger numbers on bosses (though it's got plenty of that on the Arena too).

Getting a good status attack weapon helps a lot too. Stonestrike weapons demolish just about everything (and works on more things than death).

Anything FFVII-Weapon-quality? Don't tell me what it is, a yes or no will suffice.

Yes, a whole mess of them.

Well, I know part of the answer to that now. That's what I get for browsing Wikipedia Final Fantasy articles...

Battles start to get hard at the calm lands, if I remember correctly.

As for too many battles, that is why I like Final Fantasy 8 the best in the series, the ability to turn random battles off is acquired very early on =)

I do really enjoy battles, but I hate fighting non-end bosses unless I need to fight them for something, such as getting specific equipment to make weapons or magic.

If FFX has too many battles for you, just never even consider playing a Megami Tensei game.

I still like the Xenosaga 2 model: fewer battles, but you can't be a mindless idiot when you're actually fighting them.
