While the timing on this trailer release is really, really unfortunate, this actually looks really interesting.

I'm curious what the general reaction's going to be.

It's fail or succeed based on how well the people respond to our hero/antihero?

I want to see it, despite the fact that the comic's author disassociated himself from the movie. (I think spoilers are all over that story, so be careful.)

Hmmm...the brothers are back. And no, the timing is not bad. The timing is excellent. In a country where people are divided between pure black and pure white, people need to be forced to reconize the greys.

Uh, it's not that. It's about a terrorist blowing things up in Britain. The timing on that is really awkward.

Blah, whatever. Bombs go off in Iraq all the time. Al Queda has already struck at India, then Spain, then London. At this point, it's almost commonplace. If this had come out at, say, 9-12-2001, yeah, that would be awkward, because it was the first time that Al Queda really became a household name (which was because it happened HERE).

Forget the timing of events, this movie will flop due to timing of too many comic book movies out there. I'm sick of them, and i know i'm not the only one.

Actually, you are the only one. Comic books are awesome, and so are comic book movies. If Titanic was based on a comic book, it would be awesome.

Played out. Hollywood always goes through these streaks.

Most of the comic book movies have been good, so I don't mind. (And if not good, at least entertaining.)

I dunno, i found Hellboy, Catwoman, Elektra, and Dare Devil to be pretty crappy and not entertaining....

Movies that also jumped on the bandwagon that sucked are League of Extraordinary Gentleman and Van Helsing (maybe it was a comic? who knows at this point).

Over saturation is an understatement.

Hellboy and LXG was decent, and at least shouldn't be among the likes of Catwoman. There have been plenty of good comic book movies in recent years: Batman Begins, X-Men, Spiderman, Sin City, Constantine, Blade, The Punisher.

Spiderman and X-Men started it, and i like them. Batman has always been around, so there isnt much to say, but the others you mentioned have been average movies trying to cash in, IMO.

Remember the medieval boom of crap after Harry Potter and LotR? Epic battles were the thing, now its comic crap.

I defenitely never said that and never will, comics are kickass, just not when every other new movie is based on one. I blame Hollywood, not the comics.

You're the man, Derith, jsyk. :)
