Former ER star Goran Visnjic seems to be the favourite of four remaining candidates. He would be the second Bond to be born outside of the UK (George Lazenby was born in Australia, but his family is English), and the first Bond to be born in a non-English speaking nation.

The next Bond movie set for release in 2006 is based on the first book written by Ian Flamming, and also was the name of the first Bond film (unnofficial just like Never Say Never Again).

Yeah, yeah, I know. And I know you're a big Bond fan, but it seems like the series is really getting tiresome. Ian Fleming would have never wanted it to go this far.

I am more of a fan of the older Bond movies, of the new ones I only like the two Dalton flicks and Tommorow Never Dies. The other ones I'll watch, but they seem to much like regular action movies. The new guy they have playing Bond has a lot more promise than Brosnan did. They are also using an original book by Flemming, so it should be interesting.

World is Not Enough was about the only recent one that I was interested in, and mainly because they focused on a plot, instead of stupid gun tricks.

Every once in a while I'll watch Goldeneye and I'm surprised at how good it is. I saw the one after it and it was crap. I didn't bother with any of the others after that and I've never actually seen any of the Bond movies before Goldeneye.

Goldeneye had a couple of very good actors (Sean Bean definitely stole the movie and I thought him the best villain of the Brosnan series), but the story was very shallow in comparisson to the one after it, Tommorow Never Dies. In fact, it has one of the shallowest stories in the entire series.

A lot of people have different preferences, as you will see though. My favourites are: From Russia With Love (incidently the title of the new game which I am VERY much looking forward to), On Her Majesties Secret Service, The Living Daylights, For Your Eyes Only, and License to Kill. There are a lot of others I really like too (for example, I might sometimes substitute Live and Let Die onto that top 5 list).

Here are some lists for those interested:

Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved me usually rank very high on most lists, but they are not among my favourites. Goldfinger is the one that most stereotypical Bond impressions and spoofs come from.

I thought Tomorrow Never Dies was over the top and gimicky.
