Check out these forced bundles:

That's atrocious. Everyone should make a point of not buying a single thing from them for the rest of the year as punishment for trying to screw over the consumer.

The more they do shit like this, the more I'm happy I screwed them over every chance I got.

My guess is this is going to backfire like a 20-year-old Pinto. I suppose I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like $600 is a mass-market flashpoint. I guess it does solve the demand problem for them...

I'm under the impression that the bundles are usually enforced by the suppliers since that way it sells games which is where the money is made. I'm not seeing how a retailer like EB have to gain from selling these in a bundle.

Here comes Gamespot, to make the EB bundles look like a deal:

Just to spite them, buy the system from Walmart if you're going to get it. Fucking predatory companies. Who the fuck wants all 10 games with the Platinum bundle? And how has $1200 US to drop on it?

an assumed $59.99 price
The XBox 360 will be the last console system Microsoft will make. It's like the worse ideas of the Sega Saturn/Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 combined into one really bad marketing mistake.

Sony will assrape them into the 22nd Century.

Scrapping the previously proposed "Saturnday" launch of September 2nd, Kalinske told his shocked E3 keynote audience that the Saturn was available across the country even as he spoke, for the suggested retail price of $399. The audience's response was tremendous; had Sega preemptively won the next generation wars?

In any case, the day was still young. During the next keynote, Sony Computer Entertainment America President, Steve Race, walked slowly to the podium and leaned carefully forward. He uttered a single phrase, but it was enough to make the crowd go wild: "$299." From that point on, Sony's PlayStation was the system to beat in the United States.

I think you mean Gamestop, as Gamespot is where the article is hosted. I point this out because initially, I thought you meant that the article was biased in favor of the bundles.

I think it's way too early to make that judgement. While the N64 didn't do as well as Nintendo wanted, it didn't ruin them. And there was much more that went wrong with the Saturn.

Yes, Kupek, my mistake. It is Gamestop.

And the N64 had something like 30% of the market share in North America, it's not like it was a complete disaster
