This is why you stick with the teleprompter cues.

Mike Myers looked like he wanted to die, and the look on Chris Tucker's face was hilarious.

(Please don't turn this into yet another Circular Political Thread)

Well, Mr. West looks and sounds like someone who is obviously very intelligent. He didn't come across looking like a moron at all. Nope, not one bit.

*please note sarcasm, pleeeease! :)

I won't go into politics, but I'm assuming Kayne is fair game.

Good rap artist. Well known for a certain amount of intellectual arrogance, though, which the consensus is that he's sort of unable to fully back up. I didn't actually watch the video, but I certainly can see how his personality would lend itself to thinking a fundraising telethon is the right place to start a controversial political tirade.

man it wasn't that bad at the start. I kind of agree with him that they have only showed black people as riotous looters and pissed off (I bet the white folks are pissed off as well CNN) but the out of nowhere Bush doesn't care about black people just made my face go kinda like mike myers' did

Seriously. I don't know what I would have done if I was Mike Myers. Wept, perhaps?

Well, besides, if you wanted to alienate a bunch of Bush supporters and reduce the chance of them donating...seems Kanye didn't realize that part...

Yeah, West just destroyed his chance to become famous. Right now, people are like "Kayne who?" and everybody knows Myers and Tucker. He could have done the same thing by refusing the job and making his statement outside the show.

But, then again, he wouldn't have received such a great reaction when they shifted to Tucker. "Bush doesn't care about black people...back to you Tucker." "Uhhhh..."

West also commented at Live 8 that AIDS was a manmade virus that was purposely given to Africans.

So, you know, this isn't really out of character for him.

Heh, does West not have an education or something? AIDS was originally thought to be a "gay disease" made to punish their sinful behavior, and it wasn't as spread out in Africa as it is now.

The only credible theory I've read is that AIDS started in Africa.

Right. As Kupek said, everything I've read about the disease indicates it originated in Africa.

The conspiracy nuts like to think that it was manmade by <insert US Government agency of choice>, though.

Kanye West is already famous. He didn't need to say anything on a telethon to become that way. The guy is a stupendous idiot, though.

3 words - hi-lar-rious. I think my screen became wet from the perspiration from Mike Myer's head. Chris Tucker had a look like he was on the toilet when he got a call from the product that we was on RIGHT NOW and was rushed from the bathroom and in front of a teleprompter. They should have played Twighlight Zone's score to the whole thing.

For the record, I think Kanye was out of line given the purpose of the event. Blame people later after people have been helped. Aslo, if you're going to make these accusations, you need to immediately follow them up with evidence. Nothing constructive could ever come of such an outburst.
