I'll be patient. I'm sure the dubs are good, or at least Square's subs.

That's the raw. A softsub is floating around for it, but the timing is horrid.

I'll leak out a cleaned up sub in here once it's done :P

I watched the entire Japanese, Japanese-subtitled movie from start to finish. Watch a trailer if you need a translated idea of what's going on. This moving fucking ROCKS.

It's not Final Fantasy: The spirits within, aka space flick that made no sense.

This is fucking Final Fantasy. Lots of encounters. Awesome battles, wonderful music, and extremely overpowered main characters.

I love seeing Cloud duel wield his weapons, not to mention I think they're the same ones you get from FFVII(Save ultimate weapon). He even has his limit breaks and such, and the fight scenes in this movie are absolutely beautiful.

There was not a moment in this movie where I was bored, I loved every second of it from start to finish.

If you didn't like FFVII, fuck ya! Your loss! :)

Everybody else needs to download the bloody movie omg.

Update: I got an English Sub File, seems pretty accurate. ^_^

I'd prefer to wait until when I can pop it into my DVD player and not worry about downloading a huge file, picture/sound quality and Square's localization.

Well, to those that are interested, here is a slightly more polished sub.

http://s20.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2PC9 ... M3EGR5MOYF

The starting portion has been cleaned up a bit, font reduced and some other minor changes done on the one that's floating around.

Timing is still off for some parts though.

General information, Reno's is NOT suppose to be saying yo all the time. He's using a form of Japanese street slang that is hard to translate.

More the reason to wait for Square's translation. By the way, no spoilers from any of you guys, okay? Otherwise, I'd be forced to rip your head off and shit down your neck, okay?

If it's a street slang that's apparently hard enough to translate that you can't provide an equivalent off the top of your mind, what's wrong with treating it as 'yo'?

Oh gimmie a break, like you've never watched a sub before. ;)

The one Garford posted is actually very good.

I'm just saying that unlike most animes companies, I actually trust Square to translate it right, so I'll wait for them.

I like Penny-Arcade's description

"This film contains scenes that may be totally fucking awesome. Your favorite characters may be rendered in extreme detail as they take part in mind-blowing battles set in familiar locales. Futuristic scabbard/motorcycles might be depicted in a way that makes them appear sweet."

Okay, I just watched it because a friend brought it over. Overall, I'm a little disappointed:

1. The fight scenes looked like the same guy from LXG was doing them. Scene switching so crazy that I thought I was getting epilepsy.

2. If you take away the fanboy elements and the fact that it was based off of FF7, the movie had a storyline that was worse than FF:tSW. That's kinda sad, really.

3. Can I have a more confusing plot? Really? I really want something more confusing that this. Let's just roll up Akira and the last episode of EVA into one. I want a director's cut with all of the sense put back into the movie that they seemed to have cut with this one.

4. The motorcycle scenes felt like I was watching Torque: unrealism so out there that it was almost cartoonish. The other scenes felt... ummm, felt like Torque without the motorcycles.

And I was really siked with this movie. Man, what a disappointment! It's not that it wasn't bad, really. It was decent, like FF:tSW was, but if it was put out in theatres, it would get worse reviews than tSW did.

OOOOH OOOOOH does he use the spiked bat.....that was always my favorite weapon.

and on a more serious not........oh my shit my anus is now bleeding from how freaking cool that was. I really don't care what tey are saying.....it's just plain cool. I could watch it on mute3 and still love the living hell out of it. who the hell needs a plot when it's this insanely bloody coolo

Well, to call it a cartoon would be an insult to its quality. As such, I would expect something a little bit more realistic.

OH MY GOD IT"S A 90 MINUTE FMV!!!!1!!!111!!!!!!ONEMILLION!!!!

Watched the first twenty minutes or so with a friend...I had him turn it off...

It's very pretty. I'll buy it when it comes out, and I have no doubt that I'll like it. Seems like a great cartoon.

I had the same wacky-plot-ness issues that I had with many of the games. I just can't seem to like the fact that some parts of FF are straight Saturday morning, plotwise, and some of them are so much deeper-felt and more interesting. The inconsistency makes it harder for me to like the whole thing as a consistent work.

Nevertheless, it seems like a great technical achievement.

I just finished watching Advent Children and all I can say is wow.

Also Animesuki recently posted up someones sub of Final Fantasy VII Last Order. Its an anime about the events that took place before the game started, while all the mess in Neiblheim was happening. Main character is Zach. Pretty badass stuff.

It did seem to me like a 90 minute FMV. I do not think that anyone except people who have played FF7 will enjoy this movie. Some FF7 fans may be angry with it too because of how differently the characters behave in it compared to the game.

I finally got around watching it. This movie seems to be with the new school of action manga where it is not important to actually see any of the action as long as it looks cool. In Dragonball they're always talking about soandso is faster than the eye can see so you got to feel his aura or whatever. Well, in here you actually can't see about 75% of the action scenes so you too need to develop some extra-perception senses. At least compared to other products of the same school, this one does look pretty.

I think it'd help if everyone used lightsabers because that way at least you can tell where the sword is by the glow. Or paint the sword with some kind of colored silouettes.
