It's a business strategy commonly referred to as "diversification". Often found in mutual fund companies, "diversification" involves the addition of other lines of similar or dissimilar but unrelated products or services to a company's overall operations in order reduce the reliance on one product or service for company profits, thereby effectively reducing the inherent business risk.

Okay, you can't call Square Enix Squeenix anymore. I actually looked "Squeenix" up on Wikipedia and was utterly shocked when Square Enix's name came up.

Good god, that's funny. I may have to try to vandalize their booth at E3 next year to read that.
