I HATE them. HATE HATE. There are times these days when I feel like my head will explode from the hating.
I bought C# awhile back and have been using it to do a small GUI tool for our company. Some of you probably remember I've had tirades against the big M before. Well, I had a brief, torrid love affair with C#, and even at one point said to my friend "I love C#...Microsoft finally did something right...all is forgiven".
The torrid love affair turned abusive pretty quickly. There are all sorts of minor quirks and idiosyncracies, which I'm willing to put up with, but today was the last straw.
For aesthetic purposes, I changed two of the buttons on this small GUI from text-labeled, to using small PNG files as icons that were in the same directory as the project. My project promptly BROKE, but not with any error message that would be simple enough to point me on the right track or anything. Oh no. It did tell me something about resources and not being able to find all the ones it needed, which put me on track eventually, but the warning messages and error messages I was getting advised me that I ought to rebuild one of my base components which had NOTHING - but NOTHING - to do with the problem. The functionality I was trying to use is DOCUMENTED, I believe, as working, and if PNGs don't work they should not be letting me load them into the visual form designers and displaying them for me in a pretty WYSIWY(absolutely don't)G interface so that I can mistakenly but understandably believe they might work.
I paid for this software. I paid FULL PRICE for this software. I paid enough that I should not be having the idiot fucktards at Microsoft STILL making shitty product, STILL wasting my time, and STILL abusing the U.S. legal system to maintain monopoly power so they can continue to sell student-quality product at asshat-quality prices - it's been what, twenty years now?
Bill Gates is just going to have to die, that's all there is to it. All there is to it! Anyone know of a good store that carries high-powered military-grade rifles?
