Until Zeus and Sine pointed out a few technological restrictions, I actually didn't think it was a completely terrible idea.
However, I am seeing now that if I were a chick, I would not want to go in for surgery every time the thing stopped working. Also, my guess is this might make passing airport security sensors a real pain in the butt.
