They're going from their open-ended, skill based profession system and turning it into a strict class/level based system. They're revamping combat yet again, to turn it into what sounds like Diablo speed and gameplay complexity.
This is the biggest design shift that a commercial MMO has ever gone through. Should be interesting to watch, if nothing else.
