Can you post some details about that site you used? What kinds of offers you have to sign up for, how much they cost, how many referrals you need to get before you get it, stuff like that?

Thanks.

Sure. I'll get together all of the pertinent info and post it.

I'm still waiting for them to authorize my order for the DS, but I know it's all legit seeing how I got my PSP and Ipod the same way. :)

Hey, 57, here you go. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm basically a pro at this by now. :)

For gamingsystems you need 4 referrals. For the Ipod and PSP, you need 5.

When people sign up under you, they will appear in your account with an icon showing whether they've completed an offer yet or not. You need to complete an offer and then have 4 friends do the same.
The types of offers vary. The company has deals with many big-names such as Blockbuster and RealPlayer for instance. They range from signing up for a credit card to trying a service for a free month trial, etc. You'll see about 15 different offers on the site and they are random and do change over time. The one I like the most so far is the RealArcade SuperPass. It's a free 30 day trial and it's actually something worth trying for a month.

The amount of time it takes for an offer to give you or your referrals credit can vary from instant credit to 2 weeks. The RealArcade takes 1-2 days, on average. Some offers require you to pay shipping or a one-time fee. Some are free. It really depends. You just need to check each one out, but like I said, you get a wide selection.

Once you get your 4 referrals, you ask for your account to be approved. The company picks over it with a fine-tooth comb to make sure you or your referrals did not violate any terms or conditions. Then you can place the order.

The basic rules to follow are: one account per household so don't try to get a roommate to sign up using the same address, don't use more than 1 computer to access the account if possible because they do check IP addresses and such which means they know which computer accesses which accounts. And don't cancel the free offer too quick even if you find out that it's not something you're interested in. They check this also. If the company finds anything that makes them think you are trying to scam them, they'll put your account on hold and you won't get anything.

Also, make sure your browser accepts cookies when you click the link to complete an offer. If it doesn't, you won't get credit. You will see a little mini-window appear with the terms for that offer. If you don't see it, try turning off an pop-up blockers.

Also, make sure you ship it to the address you signed up with when you set up the account.

Here's an example of how 1 mistake can screw you: my friend found 5 referrals for his Ipod and asked for account approval. He got it and when he placed the order, he asked me to use my work address since he isn't home during the day to accept packages. I said sure and so he shipped it to my work address under my name so that when the package was delivered I'd get an email. Because I already shipped my Ipod to that address, they put his account on hold and won't give him his Ipod now. Even after he explained the situation numerous times, they refused. So just follow their rules and you're cool.

Also, if you decide you want to try for a PSP or Ipod, here are those links (the referral numbers are for my friend. I figure if you're signing up, you might as well get him credit) :):

Yeah, it sure does suck that you can get free crap for doing almost zero work. :)

And actually they made their way online a loooong time ago. I had started the Ipod almost a year and a half ago. Plus, the term "pyramid scheme" usually means a set up that is actually a scam meant to confuse the customers into giviing money to their recruiter and gaining nothing. This one actually works and you can get whichever product you want without spending a dime in most cases and with very, very little work. If you have a few people who you know will be interested in acting as referrals, you're almost stupid not to do this, in my opinion.

Heck, I've received a total of about $630.00 for free because of this.

Okay...I got most of the way through completing an offer, saw that I would have had to input my credit card info, and am now getting scared off.

Has anything adverse happened to you because you filled out one of these offers? I mean, I decided to do some online video professor thing (since I wouldn't have to pay any shipping/handling or even buy anything that way), but it still asked for my credit card. Even if I signed up and cancelled it right before the trial period ended, would they still do anything with my credit card info?

Got any reassurance for me? :)

In the end, it's up to you whether you want to enter that info. I can say from personal experience as well as from seeing the outcome of friends and family doing the same that there have been zero problems related to this other than my fiancee being charged even after she canceled her trial, but I just called the company and resolved it in about 5 minutes. Other than that, I have no complaints.

The offers I completed and the offers my referrals all completed were generally with very well-known companies such as Blockbuster, Real, etc so I wasn't concerned. A few did some with Ancestry.com, a few with eFax, a few with RealRhapsody. I haven't heard any horror stories from anyone.

The reason they want the credit card info is to be able to charge you if you don't cancel. Cancel in time and you're set. I can't promise they're not selling your name to advertising companies either, but that didn't bother me. I already got so much junk snail mail before and I haven't noticed an increase if they did do this.
