Was a PSP Christmas

The PSP made out pretty well this year for me as i got GTA:Liberty City Stories and a 1 gig mem card. After wasting a day experimenting, i finally figured out how to copy a DVD onto the 1 gig card and get that to play on the PSP. Now that i know how to do it, it is actually really easy and only takes about 45 min. My PSP is now officialy the best entertainment device i have ever owned. Yesterday, for example, i had to take the metro to a client... while walking from my car to the train i listened to a few songs i had in the PSP, when i sat down and rode into D.C. i watched about a half an hour of Old School, and during my lunch break at the client i beat a few missions on GTA:LCS. Excessive entertainment? Sure, but it was fun nonetheless.

It is real expensive, but i am tempted to buy that Sony Location Free base for $250 that allows the PSP to watch your cable channels from any wireless hotspot. You hook it up between your cable, your TV at home, and your broadband at home and it allows you to watch TV anywhere you have a wireless connection with the PSP. I could set the PSP on my desk at work and watch the news/sportscenter all day long while i work as opposed to the radio.

Anyways, bottom line is get a PSP. Weee!

I'm enjoying mine a lot, but I'm actually looking forward to my DS more.

I think there just aren't quite enough games on the PSP that I consider must-buys whereas I have at least 7 or 8 on the DS.

That base station sounds pretty cool though. I hadn't heard about that before.

I'm on one tough mission in LCS stories right now. I have to escort another car without it getting destroyed and it's not going well for me.

I agree about the games, but when you add in everything else, that is what makes the PSP so cool. I know good games will slowly and eventually roll out; meanwhile i have a pocket sized iPod/dvd viewer that can surf the net, and make use of RSS (get the new firmware if you have no idea what i'm talking about).

It takes me forever to beat/get sick of portable games anyways. I'm still loving Lumines and Hot Shots Golf, it will take me a while to beat and get over the new GTA.

To each his own, though, thats why this is America and we have choices.

I think what it is for me is that I tend to like things that are excellent at doing 1 specific task and have 1 item for each task. I don't know why. I'm weird.

Like I want my Ipod for music, my PSP/DS/GBA for games, my Palm for organization. I have problems using my PSP for anything other than games cuz it's not it's main focus.

No, i would usually agree with you... like, i want a small cell phone that just calls, i dont need video or a camera or that other crap. For some reason i'm weird in that i like my PSP being so functional, but usually hate it when anything else is.

I'm glad you get a lot of functionality out of it. It is a wonderful piece of technology.

Actually, the next game I am really excited about for the PSP is the Katamari game.

While I disagree with Nokia's terrible N-Gage stuff, having a camera phone has its uses. For example, if you don't happen to have a camera handy, but your phone is right there. As long as the technology doesn't interfere with each other (like N-Gage's idea of controls on a dialpad), I'm all for combining them.
