It was so cold in my apartment last night that all of the food that was in the refridgerator part of my fridge - not my freezer - froze up solid.

Living in L.A., I'm not used to this sort of thing. It makes me wonder whether or not better fridges actually have heaters to deal with this kind of thing...

...or if most people live in dwellings where the landlord isn't too much of a douchebag to provide a working heater.

There are laws against freezing your tenants. I know that in KY, it's illegal to shut off gas (because of non-payment) during the winter months.

Always read up on your rights. I had a shitty landlord last time, so I always kept a copy of the landlord/tenant act (for my state) at hand.
