Suikoden V

Gamestop has it listed as comming out on March 29th. I cant wait, it looks like they are doing a lot of really cool stuff with this one. The tactical engine looks like it has RTS elements in it, and the duels look to have fighting game elements.

Now if only it wasnt comming out the day before Kingdom Hearts II.....I'm screwed 8^(

Im actually playing Suikoden Tactics right now and enjoying it. Out of the Suikoden series, Suikoden IV was definitely somewhat of a let down. Hope Suikoden V remedies the issues from the previous game.

S3 was my favorite thus far. The only fault I can think of is that backtracking can be hell, especially with Geddoe, before you get the blinking mirror.

I sold my S2 two years ago for $150. It was worth it, though I would really like to play it again.

I burned through S1 a little while ago for the first time in years and the experience wasn't as good as I remember it. Still a good game but the dialogue/translation is rubbish.

Not even going to bother playing S4 after reading much about it and playing the demo.

REALLY excited for S5. It's the game that's going to make me buy a PS2 for the third time. Gamespot has a couple long preview vidoes that are worth checking out.

I am playing through tactics myself right now. Also S4 is worth a playthrough if for no other reason then all the new lore and such that was uncovered. Plus you can load your S4 data for Tactics after you clear it.

The Setting for 5 is the Queendom of Falena and the timeline is a couple of few years before 1 (not sure of the exact timeline). Of note is that Georg Prime is a major player in this one (you might remember him from Suikoden 2. They talk about how he assisinated the Queen of Falena if you investigate him.) Also we are supposed to see more of the Lorelli-Killey storyline in this one. Of other things of note, the old school birds eye view world map is back. Also we are supposed to learn more about the origins of the true runes. Mabye if we are lucky we will learn about more than the Sun Rune (the rune that is the focus for this entry.)
