Since I still have stuff to play already, I bought three games today, and I have copies of Trauma Center & Phoenix Wright on the way, I'm going to hold off on getting one for a couple more weeks, but it looks like I'll finally be able to use my Xmas money and pick up a 360 in time for Top Spin 2. Whee!

I'm waiting until Christmas 2007 or 2008. I'm in no rush for a new system yet, I have a lot of games to play for the next couple of years. If GTA Vice City 2 comes out for 360, I will seriously consider getting one sooner.

I agree with Mental and Blotus. Other than Condemned, there's nothing I really want for the 360. I'm holding out for the Revolution and PS3 anyway. I'll just bide my time with FFXII and Twilight Princess in the meantime.

And personally, if I hadn't received enough money for one from my parents for Xmas, I doubt I'd be all that interested either - I mean, you can see the amount of current-gen (even GBA!) games I'm playing.

Here's the thing about it for me. I've never really done much online gaming...heck, I only got internet at my house a couple of months ago. And, in addition to that, I've also sort of steered away from the mainstream games - instead of playing things like CoD/MoH and Burnout/PGR, I've played stuff like Psychonauts/Indigo Propecy/Katamari/GH - so to me, a lot of the offerings on the 360 aren't games I've played over and over again, and they look pretty, too!

Not to mention that there are more and more games I'm interested in - I already wanted to try Condemned, CoH2 and PGR3, and now there's Oblivion, GRAW, and of course Top Spin 2 next month. I'm also really intrigued by the whole Live Marketplace and Arcade ideas...downloading demos is very appealing to me, as is the idea of cheap indie games to try out (and I'm dying to see what all the Geometry Wars hype is about).

I'm not really sure why I posted this - it's not like anyone's mind is going to be changed. Oh well, it was fun to write anyway.

I haven't done much online gaming either, myself. I tried a few things on Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox, as well as PC, but the only games that I have really invested any significant time into are Starcraft and Civilization 4 (if you do not include Utopia). Even World of Warcraft lost my interest quickly, and that is like the top online game ever.

However, I am finding that handheld games online seem to work quite well, I really enjoy playing Mario Kart and Metroid online. The Opera Browser and the touch screen will be something that I will certainly be looking forward to, it means I can play Utopia anywhere I want. It's mainly just the freedom that handheld gaming allows that makes everything more attractive. I do not have a PSP yet, but it's a system I will be keeping an eye on for some great games.

This generation I had a problem of playing through less than 15% of the games that I purchased. This is only for Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2; all of my handheld games get played through, and most of my PC games as well. Of course, my three most anticipated titles of the generation, FF12/Zelda:TTP/XS3, have yet to be released.

When will they be offering this with HD-DVD Technology? When Toshiba get's it's act together?

Damned if I know when the HD-DVD is going to be offered...not that I'll probably bother to get it, anyway. Unless, of course, some of the new features turn out to be ridiculously nifty, but even then...I just don't think it'll be worth it to replace my entire DVD collection (and it's freaking huge at this point). However, at least I'll have the option of picking up the expansion drive when it comes out, because I finally got my hands on a 360 today!

Thank goodness Circuit City's web site displays which stores near you have units in stock. It turned out that the CC up in Manchester, NH - a 45-minute drive from my work - got two Premiums in which weren't even put out on the floor, so the only possible way you could get one was if you knew they had stock ahead of time and asked for one when you came in. I called to double-check, took off, and dropped everything off at my house on my way back to work - a new 360 Premium, an extra wireless controller, and copies of Fight Night Round 3, GRAW, and Oblivion (and I'll be buying Geometry Wars tonight as well). Yay!

And now I can also get in on the ground floor when Top Spin 2 comes out next week. Yay!

And now I have four more games to play on top of the seven (really nine, since Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright showed up the other day and I popped them open to try 'em out) I'm already playing! AAAAAAAAGH!

Yeah, I've got faaaarrr too many DVDs right now to be interested in the new released unless they offer ridiculous new stuff. I'm all for the new format....if it came out 6 years ago. It's too damned early to be purchasing my third copy of the Alien series (VHS and DVD already)

What can HD DVD offer that standard DVD doesn't already offer? I understand that they can offer a cleaner picture, but I personally do not find that necessary. I was reletively OK with VHS picture quality, but I much perfer the additional things (such as scene selection, commentaries, etc.) that DVDs offer.

Well, with much greater capacity and the no-brainer upgrade of the RAM in a DVD player (if I'm not mistaken, some of them have as little as 4K of free memory, it's ridiculously low), what you'll end up with is essentially an interactive media. Potentially, you can splice up the movie and do what you want with it, such as adding in certain parts of deleted scenes or blooper reels that are a part of the extras. You could, at any point, split the screen and read the script at the same time as watching the movie. Maybe you can interlace storyboards over the actual film to show the difference. There could be a running background information ticker on the bottom; think of the Infinifilm features but running at all times.

There's so much more you can do with the extra room and RAM.
