It definetely has the potential to really put a damper on the Wii's controller, especially since there's no sensors. Mind you, it's not going to have nearly the sensitivity, but that doesn't matter when you have masters of marketing at Sony.
The ONLY thing Nintendo has going for it (well, other than price) is the uniqueness of the controller. Even if the PS3's isn't that good, it's really gonna hurt Nintendo when it comes to mass-market acceptance I think. They're already way behind in people's minds long before the next gen starts. Being way less powerful is another huge blow in the minds of the masses. Losing their main selling point is an enormous blow.
The ONLY thing that'll help Nintendo now is having those kiosks showing off Wii Mario and just why you NEED to spend $200 (MAYBE they can get away with $250) on the system, just like the N64 did. Squeenix (Dragon Quest offshoot confirmed as launch title) and the others can't help here, it's a new kick-ass Mario or bust. And not many people are gonna fall for the delayed Zelda-as-launch thing, especially when the graphics are gonna be so far behind.
As much as I love their stuff, looks early on like they might be a more distant third than this time around in the US.
And for those who call me a Nintenwhore, take note of this post.

I was there on that fateful day, were you?
