What's coming out in the near future? I'm totally out of the loop and I can't really research it here at work because of NAZI WEBSENSE ADMINISTRATORS.... ahem...

So anyways, any info? I'm more concerned with PS2/Gamecube/DS/PC

Nothing really interesting on PS2 until the end of August, then there are a ton of good games coming out including Scarface, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Rogue Galaxy, Disgaea 2, Valkyrie Profile 2. Final Fantasy 12 and Xenosaga Episode 3 both out in the later fall.

Gamecube has nothing that PS2 won't be getting. Only Baten Kaitos 2 (if it even makes it here), Twilight Princess, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and Kirby Adventure look interesting this year.

PC: Spore and Civ 4 expansion out this fall; I don't really follow PC too closely.

DS: Has a lot of games: Big Brain Academy and Magnetica are both cheap purchases coming out next week. If you like Harvest Moon, that is also out next week. Later on in the summer are Starfox Command and Contact (RPG) which both look really good; also new Megaman ZX (which actually looks good, and I'm not a Megaman fan like Eric and Don for example). For Epic Adventures and RPGs out this year that you might find interesting (correct me if you like Pokemon games =P):

Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
Tales of the Tempest
Xenogears Episode 1 and 2,
Children of Mana
Legend of Arcadia
Dark Reflections
Rune Factory: New Harvest Moon
ASH
Azure Dreams
Final Fantasy III
Open Season (A survival Adventure game by Ubisoft)
Eragon
Shin Megami Tensei
Dragon Quest Monsters
Baten Kaitos
Lunar Knights (The word "Lunar" is not meant to be a reference to the series Lunar)

Some strategy simulation titles: Panzer Tactics, Black and White, Dynasty Warriors. Some other interesting titles, like Hotel Dusk Room 215 (which I am definately buying). Not a lot this summer, but during the fall there will be much more than can be handled =)

More hours of gameplay than there are hours in the last few months of the year =)

So yeah: Only DS has anything that I find particularly interesting until the end of August. There are also games already out for DS which were released in the past few months that I have found are really good.

Baten Kaitos Origins has just been confirmed by Nintendo for a US release September 25th. One Gamecube title that will be worth getting. I really liked the original, and this new one is said to be even better.

Also, if you have Civilization 4, Civ 4: Warlords is out in July.

Phoenix Wright 2 isn't out until 2007. Also, what do you mean FF12 if you still care? It looks like it could quite easily be the best RPG to ever be released. The only RPG to receive a perfect 40/40 by Famitsu.

On a side note, Spore, everyone should get Spore =)

Valkyrie Profile received a 40....

After FF6, the only one I've liked is FF9. I haven't tried 8 yet, though. But 7, 10, and 11 have had absolutely no appeal to me so the series, to me, is all but dead in terms of me caring about the next game that's coming out.

Valkyrie Profile scored a 28, not a 40.

The development team for Final Fantasy 12 is the same one that did Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Battle, and Vagrant Story. They didn't do FF7, 10, or 11. So you probably shouldn't judge Matsuno for those games.

I stand corrected on the Profile thing...

Regardless of who's behind them now, I still need to be brought back into the series after the sheer disappointment of the releases (in the core series; no offshoots) from 1997 on (aside from one brilliant one, which was, ironically, the worst selling one from the 3D era).

It still doesn't mean that other people are going to think the same way you do, as you insinuated in your original post.

My exact words were "if you still care" and not "you don't care because I don't". Hell, I even listed a game I don't care about as one of the suggestions for someone else to look for knowing damned well that he has a good probability of caring even though I didn't.

How this lead you to believe that I insinuated that others think the same way as I do is beyond me.

Well, it's obvious, you lack the ability to think logically =P

Seriously though, I didn't interpret your post as was intended. I thought your post was a shot at the game being pushed back to much later than expected. So no worries.
