I wanna talk about it.

I think it's a cool idea, but I have a very robust library of PSP UMDs, so I am not biting. I did, however, buy Prinny, WTF, and Badman from the PSN store (Badman being the only download only title of the three).

I totally think the idea of having all your media ON your device is awesome. Thus I think the Go is a cool idea, but since there already is an established market of physical media (of a specific, awful format that sony pushed and pushed and now is throwing to the curb), their decision to all of a sudden switch it up is kind of weird.

Why didn't you (Blotus) get the 3000 when it may have been cheaper to buy it + a 16gb memory stick (pro duo)? I am curious.

Yeah, I'm not planning on getting the Go and I only own a couple UMDs. I have a $30 8GB card and that'll fit plenty of downloadable games plus movies.

I wish they had done this when the PSP came out. I, too, like the idea of having all my games on the system itself. Its perfect for a portable system and the new Go is highly portable, making it an even better match. The last 4 games (Patapon 2, WTF, Capcom Arcade Classics, PJ Monsters) i've purchased have come from the PSN, but i still really like the few UMD games i purchased. I was highly selective on the UMD's and cant bring myself to simply forget about them altogether. If Sony had a PSN store at the time of the PSP launch i probably would have narrowed my purchses to PSN only and i wouldnt have a problem upgrading systems.

I'm curious about how the Go plays, though. The buttons look different and the placement might be more uncomfortable?

1. I deemed it a suspicious act to trade in a PSP Slim for another PSP Slim. Had I tried that, I think the clerk may have been more inclined to turn the thing on at least, and then would have realized it was broken.

2. I have three UMD titles: FFTactics, Jeanne D'Arc, and Valkyrie Profile. The only one of those three that I really want to play again is Tactics... so if the PSP version of the game shows up on the store for $19.99 or less, I'll probably get it. No big loss. There are otherwise no UMD-only games I want to play. Sony says they're going to continue to support UMD, but I doubt it. Perhaps only for major releases since PSP games don't sell for shit.

3. The 16gb of internal memory really pushed me toward a purchase. A 16gb MSPD retails for $100, but can be found for as low as $50 (from quick searches I've done). I'd rather have internal storage than a card, simple as that.

4. It's portable. The PSP was portable with a wink and a nudge. This thing is small enough to put in your pocket if you like. The only issue I have with the size is that since I have big hands, the L and R buttons are kind of awkward to use given how thin the system is. I've heard people talk about how it's going to give you horrible hand cramps or that the analog nub is out of reach, but I haven't found either of these the case. Still, if you're just going to be playing at home most of the time, the Slim is more comfortable to hold.

I don't enjoy having to justify my own purchase, but with such a great number of intensely ANGRY people out there frothing at the mouth that the PSP Go even exists, I often feel like I'm under attack for buying one.

So I have it, I like it, I don't regret it, but I don't necessarily reccommend it over a Slim.

That's coo. If you enjoy it, all the power to ya.

Now, speaking of Valkyrie Profile and Jeanne D'Arc....what you want for them? :-)

ok. key thing. I've had one for a bit and I can say that I will still use my 3000 over it anyday. I have a ton of games for my regular PSP and won't bring myself to pay full price for a lot of games as digi purchases. even old games. Currently it's just not worth the cost. It's small as shit and I hate the positioning of some of the buttons. The Triggers I really can't stand but the actual face buttons actually feel great. If I took just the face buttons I would say it's actually better than any other handheld controller. However for the cost and the qulity of the system unless someone has never owned a psp I would avoid this and stick with the 3000.
