More comprehensive list than Seek's and further proving the fact there's nothing but casual, grandma-centric games for the Wii

And I thought there was gonna be nothing to get after God of War 3 comes out......

Meh. Only Red Steel 2 remotely interests me. Some RPGs in that lot, but I'm quickly starting to call them all crap unless proven otherwise, considering how many times I've been disappointed by non-Square RPGs (and even Square ones).

Since you have access to a Wii, look at Sin and Punishment 2 and Fragile, you might be pleasantly surprised. Don't forget, the former is a Treasure game to a Treasure sequel and if I recall correctly, you're an Ikaruga fan, no?

Besides, you missed the point of that article. These games are solely for the hardcore. Aside from Galaxy 2, which appeals to everyone, there isn't even any possibility your grandma would want to play them. Games by gamers for gamers, exactly what you and the other sheep constantly complain about when talking about the Wii's library.

Depends on your idea of hardcore. They certainly are still catering to the kiddie friendly audience, for the most part. And time will tell if any of these games are must haves. For example, I just bought and played two must have games this year, and it's only March. Guess what? None of them were for the Wii.

And no, I'm not a Ikaruga fan. I wasted $35 for the GC version.

It's easy to not play anything on a system when you don't even pay attention to what's coming out for it, so that's not really a surprise

My definition of hardcore is games that only appeal to a smaller, select group of gamers who tend to enjoy sinking a lot of time into a game which generally have a long learning curve and are often difficult. And there's no doubt that those games, aside from Galaxy 2, are only for the hardcore.

You know you can probably sell the Ikaruga for as much as you bought it for, yes?

Me? Try the rest of the forum, for example. Besides the usual suspects, I don't see much about "Hey, you gotta get this awesome Wii game." except maybe something with Mario in it.

That's their other problem. When they DO have a good game, it's almost always first party.

I guarantee you that Red Steel will be the worst title on that list. The best game will be either Monster Hunter Tri, Mario Galaxy 2, or Metroid Other M. I too would also consider Fragile, it is being released on a good label (XSeed), and most of the games they pick up are worth serious consideration.

As for the title of the article, leave it to IGN to come up with something retarded; at a glance, it looks like Wii is getting S&M porn simulations. It's not a wonder that their site has lost half their readers over the past year and a half.

"Hardcore" in this context is simply a term that gaming couch potatoes use to feel both badass and important. Same deal as when they called themselves 1337 gamers.

I've been trying to tell you about the games for a long time now. And Seek constantly pushes the Wii releases and even Mac chimes in every once in a while. There's always discussions of all the stuff that's coming out, just a few of you don't pay attention at all

Only reason I only chime in occasionally is because its not worth wasting my time with the pointless little kid bickering that goes on here 99% of the time.
