This is something that's always been puzzling me. Let's say you're selling some generic item that's widely available. The AH's lowest price is say 10G. Yet you'll see people spam trade chat with stuff like: "Selling generic item for 1000G!" From looking at the way those guys are trying to sell this stuff it's probably not meant to be a joke, but are these people so stupid that they think someone else is going to be as stupid as they are to buy it? You can say that it doesn't cost anything to spam trade chat, but I think it does, namely time and effort, and probably your reputation too. I suppose the latter might not be worth anything, but time should at least be worth something. Back in say Diablo 2 you'd always see guys asking for ridiculous trades like 'all this (junk) for your SoJ!' and I'm almost certain it'll never succeed. While making that doomed sales pitch the guy isn't playing the game, so is it really worth it? I don't expect people to offer good deals since that's human nature, but you're talking about deals that isn't possible unless someone happened to be drunk at the time. You'd have better chance to put it on AH and hope someone accidentally click 'buy' since that only takes one mouse click to do, whereas if you're physically involved in a trade that clearly gives the other guy a lot of time to think about what's going on.
