An interesting radio interview on a guy who's been thrown under the bus by the media and a few artists over the years. They discuss if Mottola would be a good judge. He makes one of the women in Stern's entourage cry.

To give a bit of a background on him:
* 1960's - Entered the music scene.
* 1970's - First claim to fame was discovering Hall and Oates in the early 70's and got them signed.
* 1980's - began working in partnership with Michael Jackson whom he would eventually purchase the Beatles catalogue with. Signed Diana Ross, Carly Simon, and John Melancamp.
* 1988 - Was handed a demo tape by a teenaged girl at a party, she must have been hot because he listened to it and discovered Mariah Carey.
* 1990 - Becomes President of Sony Music where he would sign many fantastic voices including Celine Dion and Beyonce/Destiny's Child.
* 1990's - Saw massive success of giant releases by the artists he had signed; albums selling 30 million+ from Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.
* 1998 - Divorce finalized with Mariah Carey.
* 1999 - Forced the Grammy Awards to accept Ricky Martin as a performer who they at first didn't want to bring on, he got a standing ovation, and began the Latin explosion which included other performers Mottola signed: Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
* 2000 Napster, and the beginning of the downfall of the music industry.
* 2003 - Huge differences with Sony causes him to resign. One of the major conflicts between the two parties was Mottola wanting to sign a digital distribution deal with Steve Jobs for Apple's iPod; Mottola strongly believed in the iPod and felt that this was the future of the industry- Sony disagreed.
* Over the past 10 years, Mottola has had his hands in all sorts of industries, including music, television, film, and theatre; and he's worth a few hundred mil.
