  • Directly off of fark, but i thought it was interesting.  Atleast one senator has a set of balls.

  • Somehow, we still tolerate each other. Eventually this will be the only forum left.

Most people i talk to, including the people here, think the media is overreacting with regards to all this 'indecency' crap. Yet, our senate (who are supposed to be the representation of the people) vote 99-1? What the heck, there is no way that this the percentage of people who feel indencency fines need to be hiked up 10x. This is another prime example of the groupthink that our politicians suffer from. Only one guy had the balls to vote common sense while everyone else was probably too afraid of being labeled a 'child hater' or something.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>I really really really want a law or amendment that declares that the provisions in a bill match the title or subject of the bill. None of this sneaking unrelated items into a bill that nothing to do with anything. It seems like nobody bothering reading the provision ("without debate"), and they just voted it as is. Also, isn't the Senate the first ones to get a provision/bill? They usually vote for anything because they know that the House will bring it down.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>ah, now i remember reading about this. You're right, it was a cercumstance where the provision was getting snuck in because, if i remember the news snippet correctly, the orginal was voted down! (off to find where i read this)</div>
