OK. The first gameplay-related game question in Gamethought since... uhh, a long time ago? (Suikoden 3)

Anyway, anyone know how can I get Landis in Suikoden 3? GameFAQs said he's in Kuput forest, but I still can't find him, even after hours of random battles. If you found it, where exactly in Kuput forest? How many characters were in your party? How long did you spend in random battles before he joined?

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>he does not join in random battles. while you are walking around he'll just pop into your party, of course you usually won't notice until you get into a battle. you will NOT get a message saying that he joined the 108 stars.

i walked around for about an hour and a half. i just walk around left and right entering and leaving the 2nd screen on both sides. i don't know if actually leaving the screen to make the game loads helps any but i did it anyway.

i did it in Hugo Chapter 3 with Hugo, Sgt. Joe, Fubar, Hallec and Mua.</div>
