  • By the way, I forgot to mention this, but Animal Crossing 2 will make use of the upcoming SD Memory Card Adapter, and it will likely be released with it packed in. Note, one of these holds 256 times as much data as a regular memory card (such as the one t

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>I'm not exactly sure how they function, but it is somewhat different from a traditional memory card. The major difference here is that one SD Memory Card holds 128MB's worth of data, while the regular memory cards hold only 0.5MBs worth of data. I'd imagine there will be significant load time when starting up games, though I can't confirm it. The memory cards currently used by gamecube load almost instantly.

As for Animal Crossing 2, the reasons why it will be using such a device for data storage is because it will include online functions as well as a number of new gameplay functions.

Just my speculation on a possible future title:
Likely Nintendo will use this if it plans on releasing a new Earthbound title, it would be nice to see them release the original Earthbound 64 as a bonus for pre-orders of the next Earthbound, Zelda: the Wind Waker had very little hype going for it, and a lot going against it in terms of hype, but it's still Nintendo's fastest selling title on Gamecube.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>did they even get close to finishing earthbound 64, it always looked so unfinished when i saw screen shots. I am still waiting for earthbound on gameboy advanced ( i miss my SNES cartridge :-( )</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>Nintendo invested a lot of money into HAL, increasing the size of the company by several times. Plus Miyamoto earlier said that there were unfinished games on the N64 that they wanted to finish up and release on the N64, Zelda: The Master Quest was one of those.

I think the name of the original game was Forest of the Chimera or something, it'd be great if they released it for gamecube the same way they did with Master Quest =)
There's nothing to indicate that they will, but I'm not going to ignore the possibility.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>I think they decided to scrap Earthbound 64 (and not move it to 'Cube) and just do the GB one instead (Mother 3). Earthbound 64 was FUCKING ambitious, don't forget</div>

<div style='font: 12pt ; text-align: left; '>It was, which is why I don't think they would immedietly scrap the idea, especially when they are putting some of that sort of stuff in the Animal Crossing games.</div>
