This time smoking a cigar
This may be a somewhat minor deal, but it seems like the majority leaders are about as hypocritical and brazen as our fine Commander-In-Chief. They say some bullshit, do the exact opposite, and dodge the backlash as if it wasn't any big deal. And it happens at least once a week.
It seems like it's a new technique in public relations, because it's working amazingly well. People are obviously voting for these motherfuckers. Not to mention that the media is letting this happen. Tuesday's Daily Show just pissed me off on several levels, especially the shit happening in my hometown. This damn city hardly ever gets any airplay, but when it does, it's some fucking shitstorm like this. (Hell, what do I expect from state where 80% of the population think that gays shouldn't marry?)
It's barely 6 months into his second term, and I already know that some very very bad shit is going to happen. Bad laws are going to get passed. More wars started. More fear-mongering, and more Constitutional dick-dodging. The Republicans are getting more and more extreme, and the Democrats have completely lost their backbone. (Making deals with Frist to protect the filibuster? What the fuck is your problem?!! You're playing into his hands!)

Rosalina: But you didn't.
Robert: But I DON'T.
Rosalina: You sure that's right?
Robert: I was going to HAVE told you they'd come?
Rosalina: No.
Robert: The subjunctive?
Rosalina: That's not the subjunctive.
Robert: I don't think the syntax has been invented yet.
Rosalina: It would have had to have had been.
Robert: Had to have...had...been? That can't be right.
