Found this earlier today in my web browsing. Seems like this would address many of the "concerns" that people have with normal wind turbines: noise, shadows, killing birds, etc.

There are a boatload of emerging techs that would mitigate the current problems with renewables.

None of them will see the light of day until the oil companies are dethroned, in my opinion.

It should be interesting. The area I live in has been converting its energy sources to wind power for a few years. Any major developments should impact us.
