So I ended up voting for Sanders

Wisconsin had their presidential primary on Tuesday. I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for going into the voting booth. I like Clinton and I don't think that any Democrat who gets elected will get much of a chance to implement their agenda because the chance of Democrats taking the house and getting 60 votes in the Senate in the next election is virtually non-existent. When it came down to it, I voted for the person least likely to get us into an unnecessary war. Hillary is good on most issues but I can never forget that she voted for the Iraq war.

I still don't think he'll win the nomination and I'll vote for Hillary in the general... but with my infinitesimal political power I chose the person who best represents my ideals.

He's won the last 8 of 9 states, but I still think his only path to victory is through super delegates, or in his case getting some of them to betray Hilary.

I don't see how he can do it short of Hilary's campaign imploding.

If he's able to win NY, the "Hillary is inevitable" argument will start to look pretty weak.

I dunno, a Sanders vote is a throwaway vote, as near as I can tell. He is too left. Once he drops out, seems like a lot of those 99%'ers will consider Trump as the anti corporate vote (which is nonsense of course).

If Bernie stopped winning elections people would see how un-electable he is!

Nope. The whole 99%/Occupy Wall Street demographic is just a rebranding of the left-wing of the Democratic party + some third party leftists (greens, anarchists, socialists). They have a nebulous cluster of political positions that are almost entirely opposed to Trump's: Pro-immigration, Anti-war, anti-islamophobia, anti-racist, etc.

Yeah I can't see most Sanders supporters ever voting for Trump. The call to vote for an anti-establishment candidate is not so strong that they would be willing to forsake basically all other positions. The adults will still vote for Clinton in the general election because the alternative is fucking horrifying and the babies will stay at home and not vote.

Bern was done about 6 weeks ago. Great ideas but unrealistic and most people know it. Any chance he had was a mirage, wishful thinking from the clearly large number of people on all sides of the political spectrum who are sick and tired of BS politicians. I'm with that mentality, the biggest insult I can ever throw at someone is calling them a "politician".

And that's why Trump is unstoppable on the GOP side, particularly with the extreme bullshit the Tea Party has pulled (i.e. fracturing the party, government shutdown, etc.). Don't think people have forgotten all that shit. Thing is? Trump winning the GOP nom will basically guarantee Hillary winning. There are more liberally-minded people than conservative-minded people, that's not disputable. And how many people would go out and vote just to make sure they don't get embarrassed by a Trump presidency? You'll probably see record voter turnout.

If, as people are thinking, there's a contested convention and Trump gets pushed out? Well, I would expect him to actually turn independant, which would completely kill the GOP in the race. And Hillary would win anyways. I think it's a foregone conclusion now, even if a lot of people have issues with her. One thing for sure: she's better than the alternatives.

Hey, Zeus. Just a quick question for ya!

Out of Trump and Hillary, which one actually supports a peace process between Israel and Palestine? :)
