I wasn't really a big fan of anything released in 2019, except for Grimes, which incidentally were singles leading to a 2020 album release (Miss Anthropocene, which came out last week),
Here's one actually released this year. Very different from her usual synth style. A song about friends of hers who have lost their lives to drug usage, particularly heroin. A bit of a 90s throwback, which is several songs on her album.
Then there's Dua Lipa's latest. I'd heard a few things by her in the past and wasn't really a fan. This one kicks up the energy a little:

I'd be lying if I didn't say I was hoping for some murderously hard rap, something early 90s Tupac, Rage Against the Machine, or Public Enemy inspired.
