Smallville Series Finale.

Had its moments, but the lack of a decent shot of Tom Whelling wearing the suit = complete and utter fail.
Was either bad CGI that was zoomed way too far out, or close ups of his face with a cape in the barely dangling in the background, which was really really disappointing for a series that pretty much built you up to "that" moment for 10 years. I thought the final shot of him opening the shirt and revealing the S was cool, but the no-suit really ruined what could have been something great for me, and from what I've read around the web so far, alot of fans as well.

This was terrible. But then again after a pretty strong start the season got progressively worse with the last couple of episodes being some of the worst in the shows history. I mean this was fuckin' awful. The finale had so many promising things. I mean Apocalypse actually showing up. You No Darkseid, no other characters, generally a terrible finale. The worst thing to happen to Superman since JMS decided that Taking a walk while acting like a patronizing elitist dickrag and vebally abusive towards your wife would be an awesome storyline.
I'm also crazy dissapointed that at no point did the Black Racer show up. Seriously, if you are going to go fourth world where the hell are the things you need. I mean Death is a dude on Skiis. If the black Racer showed up on a snowboard it would have been the most awesomely dumb thing of all time. Where were barda and Scott. How can you do Darkseid without Barda and Mr. Miracle. This overall was just a failure on just about every level.....then again that's not much different than the show as a wholel

I didn't realize the series was still going... It's a little funny if you think about it, the actor Tom Welling is in his mid-30's, FINALLY becoming Superman - who was beforehand played by actors in their mid-late 20's (Dean Cain and Christopher Reeve).

Superman sucks. Easily my least favorite superhero.

I don't know about least favorite but I'm going to have to chime in and agree. Other than the rare story about him I have basically no interest in him. This is a trend for me in DC comics, though. I can't stand them. I can hardly stand Batman at times and that's probably the best DC has to offer.
As for Smallville, congratulations on lasting to the end of the season. I gave up a while ago and can't say I ever REALLY enjoyed the series. At worst it was a crummy soap opera and at best it was a decent soap opera about Superman for me.

This compels him to do whatever he can to make the world a better place. But when you're all-powerful, it's not obvious what you should do, and if you choose poorly, your bad choice has huge consequences.
From the
last time we had this same conversation.

Definitely an interesting thing to explore but I liked how Marvel explored it with the Sentry more than how DC handles it with Superman.

Superman is the most powerful Super Hero. Essentially, if Wolverine attacked him, he would bend his claws; if Professor Xavier tried to do Vulcan mind melding on him, he would mind-moon him; if Cyclops tried to eye beam him, Superman would eye beam him back before suing for copyright infringment; and if Apocalypse tried to mess with him, Superman would take him and throw him into the sun; Oh and Magneto? Superman would generate a magnetic field which would demagnetize him; and Spiderman shooting web at Superman would look like what the Japanese call bukkake, you know, that certain type of arrangement of udon noodles.

Yeah - what? And I don't care how powerful Superman is. If ____ kicking ____'s ass was something I cared about in comic book reading I'd have pretty shitty taste.

Bah, who cares about wimpy X-men type Superheroes. They're not that strong, or interesting. Wolverine is kind of, but, you know...
Now when you're talking about top tier heroes....
The most interesting thing about Superman is HOW THE **** has he pulled off hiding as a reporter for 78 years without anyone except Lex Luthor catching on? Even his own wife Lois Lane doesn't know.

In the continuity that DC just wiped, Lois knew Superman was Clark Kent back in the '90s.

Actually, Superman is the 2nd best at everything. He's super fast, but not as fast as The Flash. He's strong, but not as strong as the Hulk (when they do those crossovers). He's smart, but not as smart as... I think it was Batman, but maybe somebody else.
