Disney princesses

The Princess of Hearts in Kingdom Hearts were:
Snow White
Cinderlla
Alice
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Jasmine (Aladdin)
Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
Kairi (Kingdom Hearts)
Not counting Kairi, some of the characters don't strike me as the 6 most well-known Disney princess-like figures. I'd put Ariel (Little Mermaid) instead of Jasmine and Wendy (Peter Pan) instead of Kairi. I guess the first four are pretty much set in stone (they're in the game start pictures too) so there's at most 3 spots that can be changed. What do you think?

Alice and Belle are not princesses.

If you had a daughter older than 2, you'd know that Disney pushes the following as their "princesses":
- Ariel
- Belle
- Cinderella
- Aurora
- Tiana (Princess and the Frog)
Most of the princess crap my daughter has are with the first four. Jasmine comes in on occasion and I think she has one thing we Snow White one is, but those are the usual suspects
And the Beast is a prince before he transforms. So technically, Belle becomes a princess at the end

Also Cinderella wasn't a princess. These were just some uppity bitches that married into it.
Belle should go to jail for marrying a half man half-BEAST. Girl's fucking a half-beast. You need to have a talk with your kids.

Since the defintion for Princess in Kingdom Hearts was just 'female + humanoid' I went with that one.
I don't recall Princess and the Frog being a prominent title in the Disney library. I know everyone knows the story but it doesn't seem like one where it's clearly tied to the Disney brand.

It isn't prominent but Tiana's in and around because she's a little more recent. She'll never usurp the mainstays, but she's around
There's been a small number of Disney princesses which were born that way as opposed to gaining their title through marriage. Ariel, Jasmine, and Aurora are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head

I don't really give extra credit for being new since some of the Disney movies are way old (like the 50s?) but I think nobody's going to question Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and Alice (who are also the first 4 introduced in Kingdom Hearts).
I thought of this topic since I went back to play Kingdom Hearts and then realized I don't actually know who all the 6 princesses are (Kairi is obviously original) without looking it up. Obviously KH has a huge Disney slant on it. I actually didn't think of Alice at first, but Alice in Wonderland seems to have greater historical importance.

Make no mistake about it, Ariel is a prominent princess. She's now over 20 years old, she ain't "new".
Princess and the Frog is actually a pretty good movie. I'm forced to watch it because of my kids so I've seen it way too much. I would put in the category of "good" Disney at least

Ariel wasn't one of the Princess of the Heart. I found her omission to be most glaring.

I'd assume Disney gets their say on these things since the game is predominently Disney characters.

Princess related, even.
