Kissing in the rain - this happens a lot in movies!

It happens in about every Jane Austen novel. 20th century film also seems to love the scene.
I didn't realize until just now how similar the scenes from Chasing Amy and Breakfast at Tiffany's were. Aside from starting out with an emotional and confrontational conversation in a car involving the guy the professing love for the girl, like Alyssa, Fred's gay; at least in the book version. It isn't a stretch of the imagination to suggest he's overcome his homosexual tendencies in the film, like Alyssa.
Aside from these sorts of scenes being about as romantic as it gets, for guys, there are few things in classy cinema more exciting than seeing an attractive woman all wet and ready to kiss.
