I'm watching it... It isn't amazing but the acting is usually solid and I'm starved for sci-fi, so why not? I do tend to be a week behind on the episodes, though. It isn't something that I want to watch ASAP that's airing right now like Rectify, Last Week Tonight, Wilfred and Nathan For You, so I tend to be a week or so behind on watching.

I personally watch it week to week, I love it. But I do think that the way the show is, more of a build-up show, character-driven that it may actually be significantly better if you blitz a whole season than wait week to week. It doesn't do the Helix or 24 thing where right at the end of every ep, you've got a big crisis that keeps ya hanging. It's much more of a build the way Boardwalk Empire is.

I've only ever liked Battlestar and Defiance from the channel. This show is done by the BSG guys, give it a shot, you may be surprised. It's pretty good

I caught up in a marathon after falling five episodes behind and this season is shaping fairly well.. I think it stumbles here and there but never for very long.
The music montages are always annoying, though.

Yeah, the montage can be a bit much. But it's not that bad, I can live with them.
What I like is how much time is spent on building up the characters and the world they live in. In this particular year, they've spent a ton of time on the Casthean (sp?) culture and how it impacted things. It was a nice continuous storyline to go along with the Arissa and Earth Republic coming to Defiance storylines that have been going on all season long.
And yes, you have some slow parts or boring parts. But what happened with S02E10 and S02E11 brought a lot of it to a head. And that's what the show makes sure it does. It's very classic sci-fi that way, it's not about the flash or plot climaxes. It's a slow, deliberate build, even moreso than Battlestar ever was. I personally like it but with this ADHD society, I can certainly see why shows like that (such as Boardwalk) get overlooked by many.
