  • Gladiator won. I was hoping for Traffic as Best Picture. Oh well....hopefully next year, Snatch wins.

  • Your favorite band sucks, and you have terrible taste in movies.

As for best actor, I didn't see two of the movies for it (Pollock or Castaway) so I'm not sure. They apparently didn't wanna just hand it to Tom Hanks, as he'd be setting a record that way.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Copperplate Gothic", Modern; text-align: left; '>Of course not, but can you honestly say you've seen all the other nominees' work? Some of those clips were touching (the same thing happened with the SAG awards).

Basically Julia Roberts has never really been in an acting role of 'nomination caliber' (let's pretend that concept truly exists) and this is probably the only time she'd ever enter it (said it herself). And she's loved by all American moviegoers for some reason.

But no, I have not seen the movie. Don't tell me you've never made a conscious, half-cocked statement such as this before, either. :)</div>

<div style='font: 9pt arial, Modern; text-align: left; '>Lots of webpages have info on nominees contrary to whether or not they actually were one of the final 4-5. I found pages with Castaway and Dinosaur and Chicken Run placed in the visual effects category. Your page means nothing.

Did you actually <i>watch</i> the awards ceremony, Slappy? Because, unless I'm <i>completely</I> insane, I distinctly remember them announcing Cell as one of the nominees and showing a little footage, and I distinctly remember myself jeering the screen when Gladiator beat it.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "Copperplate Gothic", Modern; text-align: left; '>I have great respect for him and the fact that he actually went to a remote island and lost weight, but I was very unimpressed with some of the acting in the movie . Like at the end where he reunites Helen Hunt. That scene just seemed horribly forced to me. And the delivery of the package to that woman (before the weak ending) was certainly not his best work, to say the least.

And on top of that, almost every interaction with Wilson seemed like a continual gag to me, he didn't quite sell me on insanity, although it was funny (the last scene with 'him' was the emotional best, however).

Do you evaluate every movie you see using this process? Heh.</div>
