<div style='font: 11pt "comic sans MS"; text-align: left; '>It's a French Film, English sub-titles. Limited release in some cities in the US.
Let's see....how do I decribe this movie. Okay, the setting is pre-French Revolution and the story is about the mysterious attacks on women in the rural area of France. The beast, people think, is a large wolf. A botanist/zoologist is sent over by the King of France to investigate.
The zoologist has an Iroquois companion he had picked up from his mission in New France(Canada) and this Indian, surprisingly, knows a bit of....well, I don't want to spoil it. There's plenty of action, lots of long talk, romance, plenty of mystery and politcal intrigue. The movie was close to being really good....but just couldn't quite deliver.
Anyway, the series of events that take place in this rural area somehow is the spark to the French Revolution, if you can belive that.
It's a long movie. I'd give it a B- or C+ rating.
Wait for it at Blockbuster. There are better movies out today.</div>
