I was buying 3rd party stuff on my 360 at the start of this generation due to inferior PS3 ports before I switched to PC and never looked back looks like this trend will continue in reverse for nextgen.

and to be fair...Lost odyssey is one of my absolute favorite games of the generation. Especially on the RPG front. Star Ocean 4 was really fun but writing wise was one of the biggest piles of shit this side of a giant pile of shit because it was shit...

Nintendo seems to be kind of sitting this generation out on the home console front. Since I launched with Nintendo Land and Mario a few weeks later Nintendo has completed development and released Luigi expansion, Pikmin, and a Windwaker remake. Wii year 1 saw Nintendo release 17 new games including Wii Sports, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Wii Fit, and Super Mario Galaxy.

3DS is booming right now though. My big hope is that Enix quits screwing around with Dragon Quest and releases a proper Dragon Quest game on 3DS. Dragon Quest X was more of a spinoff than a true DQ title.

PS4 is trying to be the first one out the gate, which, unlike Sega's version of it, is actually a good plan. I don't know how long it will last, though.

This 4 way horserace will be very interesting.

You mean like just about every modern JRPG ever made? I used to like JRPGs, too, but these clowns can't write an original story any more. Instead, they want to keep fucking that fantasy chicken.
