  • When's the last time you installed something from a disc?

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Since I got HOMM3 on Steam I decided to clean out some of my older games, and I decided to reinstall Fate Stay Night instead of just torrent it because I actually own the original copy anyway, and I think that was the first time in at least 5 years I installed something from a disc. These are even CD-ROMs I think because I needed 3 of them to finish installing! Actually I probably still have HOMM3 and Armageddon's Blade somewhere in storage too, but I decided might as well pay $15 to have it on Steam for the convenience and that I wouldn't have to worry about finding the original CD if I ever need to reinstall it.

Yeah not counting Windows 7 or a driver, the last thing I physically installed was Fallout 3 and that's just because when I pre-ordered it you couldn't purchase it digitally, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of cancelling the order.

The last time I purchased a physical copy of any game for myself New Super Mario Brothers U over two years ago. The reason I made the purchase was because of a promotional deal at Old Navy.

When it comes to PC, I am not sure. I sometimes pick up games for a dollar in bargain bins. The last non-bargain bin purchase for me was probably Civ 5, which prompted me to download an online version anyway.

I agree, they're just plastic clutter.

I've actually bought a few over the past 6 months or so:

Smash Wii U
Shadows of Mordor PS4
Hyrule Warriors Wii U

Vast majority of my gaming is on PC, which I almost never have a physical copy for the games themselves. I just tend to buy physical for consoles for fear of eventually losing access to my games somehow (because I trust Sony's and Nintendo's ability to fuck up a good thing).
