  • Good starter NDS games

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

The kiddo got an NDSi XL for Kindergarten graduation. I want to start him on some games that might be easier and introduce him to things like RPGs, etc. Can you all give me some recommendations? I never really got into handheld gaming, so I'm not sure what's out there. What is a good Pokemon game? He loves things to build, etc. He can read very well, so that isnt an issue.

Warioware games are incredible introductions to videogames in general.

For kids? Pokemon White/Black, Animal Crossing, New Super Mario Bros., Professor Layton games - start with the Curious Village, Yoshi's Island DS. Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games will probably be interesting. Mario Kart DS too; although local multiplayer is a big part of this game, and I don't know how many people still play this one.p - there's still online.

Note on Professor Layton - it is probably goimg to be difficult to get through, but it's a game that prompts kids to think in new ways; so I think that's a great one. Plus it has a very interesting art style. This game franchise is even great for adults.

He's pretty versed in video games on other platforms already. I'm looking to bump it up a notch. I'm tired of Terraria and Minecraft lol I do like Warioware though, it's going on the list!

Try him on New Super Mario Bros 2. It's not that hard
