At the recommendation of a friend I've taken to "moisture farming", i.e.: building a bunch of water purifiers on the stream in front of Sanctuary, picking the purified water up from the workbench daily, & selling it. Selling the purified water with a high Charisma to vendors is netting me plenty of caps. A little hard to come by the copper & oil needed to build generators & purifiers but I have my ways.

Pffft -- do you have me on ignore?

The downside is your settlement waterfronts look like complete shit...and god forbid you miss an attack and need to navigate a maze of purifiers looking to repair damaged ones.

I stopped reading the original thread around the post with the giant dick tower but I just read the rest and I see that yes, you did already mention this strategy. :)

Really though, the settlements look like shit no matter how much you try (though I hear with mods you can make them look prettier) and lots of guns to guard them should keep away the raiders.

I went past some yard sales this morning and found myself mentally scanning the junk for what component parts they could be scrapped for.

Which ending(s) did you go with? I'm debating between Institute & Minutemen

The worst one, imo.

Brotherhood is the best, gameplay-wise, imo. Institute should be the canon option.

I dunno. That's possible.

Either way the story after the revenge is all a trainwreck. But Bethesda isn't really known for the main story quests in these games, I suppose.

Egh, it was PETA, the militant kind, for robots. They happily fucked over the one person helping in the Institute. I could not stand them and actually *enjoyed* killing them all in subsequent playthroughs. Actually, a little surprised you only played the Railroad ending.

I agree though, Bethsoft sucks at plot/story. They should really make it a habit to outsource semi-sequels to Obsidian-type developers like they did with Vegas.

I just couldn't bear to play through the main story again lol

I got another few dozen hours out of the 'hard' survival mode (I modded in quicksaving and fast travel though) they added but I didn't even get 30% of the way through the main story.
