<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>Today, I decided to buy Lunar, seeing that Best Buy is pretty consistent about constantly restocking the shelves with 2 copies of Lunar EB, which leads to believe they're not going to lower the price anytime soon in an effort to sell them. Now, my Playstation is in my friend's dorm, so I drove down there. Now I'm sure everyone knows I'm no fan of the Lunar series. But it still sucks to hear people bashing it without good reasons. One of them is a "Japanese voice actor rules above all" and he immediately complained nonstop on how much the voice actor sucks, that when Lucia/Mauri screamed it didn't sound like they're in pain. Well, I think the battle cries are a little goofy, and Lucia sounds like she wasn't sure what kind of voice she's supposed to have in the introduction, but overall I find the voice acting to be acceptable. I guess Japanese voice actress scream better than their American counterparts. I've said this before, but otakus really disgust me, and yes I used to be one of them, and would still be one using your typical otaku standard. Of course this is the same person who attributes American for being stupid for not appreciating Dragon Quest 7 (including myself, despite having seem him play the game quite a few times, while he has never seen most of the games he criticized). Then he also talked about how I wasted money for buying this piece of junk because he thought the voice acting sucked. Well, I guess this is more or less jealousy, seeing that I buy on average one game per month and he buys about one game per year even though he plays almost as much as I do. He always think I'm spoiled getting all this money to buy games, even though if he looked for a moment at his 3 computers at his room he'd realize why he didn't have the money to buy games. I mean, $1000 for a piece of equipment so that MIDI files play better? A $3000 top of the line computer (which he built from scratch, and he knows where to get parts too. He's a power freak when it comes to computers) that he gave away to his brother an year later? Heck, that $1000 MIDI synthesizer can last me an entire year at the pace of 1 game per month quite easily. Well, I would take the Playstation back, but his roommate is a good friend of mine, and he's in an even stricter family than I am. He's quite a gamer but doesn't even have a TV in his house because his parents say that's a distraction... and they bought a TV the moment he moved out of the house (for college). He told me he works from monochrome computer with ancient parts at home, because his parent wouldn't let him use any computer that might remotely be used for playing. He only gets to play at college since you need something more powerful than a 286 to write various computer programs and connect to the Internet.

Oh yeah, my thoughts on Lunar. The antiquated graphics really hurt the game. I swear it looked better on the Sega CD. The battle system is pretty tedious, and the sprites are pretty darn small. Character-wise, they're a decent bunch. Lucia is no Fina, but she plays the part well enough. Lack of constantly running is annoying. Evading enemies is pretty hard due to lack of constant running, and that you usually find enemies in pretty narrow areas. I suppose in Lunar seeing enemies more or less serves the purpose of limiting the maximum # of encounters per screen as opposed to actually avoiding them. Ruby was less annoying than I remembered, which is a good thing.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>I thought it was pretty good. The voices were okay, but some, maybe a lot, of the dialogue is pretty hokey. But it's still a decent game. I'm doing the "Epilogue" part right now. It's a nice touch.

As for otaku...most of them suck anyway. They all have the same opinions on practically everything. Japanophiles. Can't stand 'em.</div>

It plays like a pretty normal RPG, but there's just no excuse for the horrible graphics. I think it looked better on the Sega CD... though maybe that's because standards are lower back then. But even then, the graphics in Lunar does not compared favorably to the late-end SNES RPGs.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>Like the last boss in the Epilogue was supposed to be the Star Sentry, got changed around a bit. Also there's more dungeons to go through in the Epilogue in the remix (7 I heard?) than the Sega CD (2, if memory serves correct).</div>
