  • What will the other Revolution features be?

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

According to Iwata, there is to a few more features of the Revolution that we have yet to see

http://revolution.ign.com/articles/699/699630p1.html

Since a lot of people here seem interested in the system, I'd like to open the forum up for discussion on what exactly everyone thinks these will be. They'll actually be revealed in exactly a month, at Nintendo's pre-E3 press conference, so we can see who's right.

I personally think that they'll announce that you can download DS demos and stuff through the Revolution. We all know they're going to make the systems work together somehow and it's a natural choice. Since all their DS download stations that we see in store are just DSs set up to download stuff to other DSs (kinda like when you play multiplayer with one copy of the game), there's no reason they can't (and won't) just transfer the demos straight to everyone's home. Other than that, there should be the ability to use the DS as a controller or extra peripheral, kinda like the GBA-GC link for games like Four Swords and we should see some linked games that way. Nintendo loved the idea of making people by both the handheld and console versions of games and having people have all their systems, so this one is easy IMO.

I think they're going to have a mic built into the controller. Really, there's no reason not to. it can't be that expensive to add it on a hardware level. The only real question is whether or not they can transmit the voice wirelessly without lag so games like Karaoke Revolution work properly.

I have images in my head of people singing karaoke to their Revolution controller. *shudder* :) I'll probably be one of them. haha *double shudder*

Hey! Don't bash Karaoke!

I have been thinking that the controller will have some sort of memory device built into it; that or a slot for memory cards of some sort. With this in mind, it would be possible to bring the controller around with certain data on it to transfer to other revolution systems, or perhaps from a kiosk at EB or (some another similar store) to a revolution system.

Perhaps it is also that virtual console games can be transfered to Revolution controllers to be played on other revolution systems until the controller itself is turned off (similar to demoes on DS).

If revolution controllers can interact with each other, and not just the revolution system, or some demo center, then that opens up other possibilities; like laser tag =)

I believe the core system will be able to eat pigeons and small children, and that the controller itself will double as an adjustable vibrator. This is my prediction!

To add onto my previous post. Here's an idea, bringing the controller to stores, along with cash, to directly purchase credits which can be used to purchase software on the virtual console.

Next, offering free credits with the purchase of a Revolution system and the purchase of revolution titles. As well as the unlocking of free titles on the virtual console with the purchase of certain games (IE, purchase Sonic the Hedgehog Revolution, get any Sonic game from Genesis free).

What about Live Arcade like games? Something like Pac Pix for Rev downloadable?

The controller will be worth a system itself, is also my guess. Meaning, it will do a ton of crap like Seeker said.

They've gotta watch just how much they put into the controller itself. The want people to play multi, they've proven that with every system they've ever made. So we're not going to have $50US controllers here, so I don't think it'll have TOO much in the way of features. Adding a thing like a mem card slot might be too much. Even the mic I suggested might be a little much, but I'm not really sure

I am not sure either, but I would guess that something like a memory card slot in a controller would be trivial in expense since N64 and Dreamcast both had it. I guess we have to wait a few weeks to find out for sure.

That is for gamecube memory cards. It's located in the back of the system.
