Yeah, I really like GameEx, just based on stuff on the setup menu. Though, I went into Advanced mode, and man, that's about 20-30 minutes of configuration, but I like combing through every option.

Also, I found this site for all kinds of snaps, marquees, etc.: http://www.progettosnaps.net/

EDIT: Nevermind that. Pleasuredome has that already on an extras torrent. Good, because I was tired of downloading all of these RAR files.

Actually, it looks like EmuMovies has everything except the ROMs and emulators, even the Nintendo stuff that Pleasuredome doesn't mess with. (I guess Nintendo has been dicking them around about copyright issues.)

I bought GameEx ($25), which gave me a discount for EmuMovies ($10/first year), so I'll get that and then download all of the artwork, manuals, box art, etc. to get everything set up. By the time I'm finished, I'll have every ROM and emulator for every digital controller-based game system. (Decided not to mess with stuff like Dreamcast, PSX, etc.)

Dug up an old thread!

THE problem with mame cabinets is no one ever completes them. Sine, where are you with yours? I think you were almost there, then Seb was born. I see my CP about once a week, just like it was in my photo, in a closet not being used.

I want to start completion on mine again!

I think what the overall problem is the fact that there is WAY too much stuff to do for one person or even a couple of people: planning, designing, budgeting, building, purchasing equipment you've never dealt with before, troubleshooting, probably buying expensive power tools you need, setting up the front-end, finding games, troubleshooting the FE. All that may be the point. It's the exact opposite of Henry Ford's production line where instead of one guy building the entire car, each man had a specific task...you know what I mean. I wish someone handled FE's or you could ghost someone who has "figured it out."

Kids are getting in my way too. Don't really have the time to dedicate right now. Maybe in a few years when they're all in school

Haha... actually, if I have a chance to finish it, it would be now. I have my new Arcade PC (a HP), but I've ran into a problem with Windows XP and the old AGP video drivers stuck into a new PC with PCI-E. I really don't want to try to re-install XP, because I'm afraid it's going to wipe my HDs and all of my long work.

I plan on ordering a NAS soon to replace my old file server. When I do that, I'll see about backing up my Arcade HDs and risking the upgrade. I probably don't even need the backup, but I'm really paranoid about losing about a month's worth of work.

The control panel has been finished for a while, but it's still sitting in my garage. I don't think I'm going to bother with the full cabinet (despite buying one), but just have a standup control panel that hooks into my big screen HDTV.

Yeah, I really don't want to try to figure out what "arcade" screen works (and spend all of that money on it) when the HDTV is much bigger and just works.
