These bundles get better and better. I picked up the latest one for android that had Swords and Sworcery on it and that one was my favourite so far until....

THIS LATEST ONE!

THQ has been having some pretty serious financial problems lately. I really have enjoyed their Warhammer 40K games, that open world Red Faction game, and find that they seem to take some chances on some pretty interesting IP. I've been a big fan of Relic ever since the Homeworld games, and since they are a part of THQ, I have been buying a lot of THQ products just to sort of help them out as much as I can. Now comes this THQ humble Bundle with some pretty good games in it.

- All 3 Company of Heroes games
- Darksiders
- Red Faction Armageddon (not great reviews on this one)
- Metro 2033
and if you pay more than the average ($5.13 at the posting of this) you also get Saints Row the Third.

These are all steam keys, so pick this up if you just want a big brick of games for a ridiculously low price. I will personally vouch for the first Company of Heroes, and Darksiders.

WTF is up with Steam? They had some great deals during Thanksgiving week, and then they stopped. What happened to sales all day long for the rest of the year? When is their X-Mas season sales going to start?

It said the deals ended on the 26th.. they'll do more soon I imagine. 40+ days of sales in a row would just be ridiculous. It's unfortunate that Humble Bundles either seem to have games I have no interest in or bought long ago. THQ just hasn't been interesting me lately.

I've been playing Saints Row: The Third from this bundle and it's pretty fun. If you're looking at a value proposition, it was definitely worth the $6 I paid for the whole bundle.

Again, please remember that you have to pay over the average to get Saints Row. I had been planning on playing it ever since the Giant Bomb guys made such a big deal out of it last year. Previous humble bundles added more games a couple of days later to create more incentive to buy... I hope they add Red Faction: Guerilla.

Anyways, here's the link for those of you weirdos who haven't capitalized on this deal yet - http://www.humblebundle.com/

I'm not a big fan of the stuff that sells you like 25 games that you'll only play 2 of them for $30 because it's really like paying $15 for the two games you actually play. Yeah you tell yourself 'I'll eventually play those other games' but you really do not.

That said there's a pretty big sales event going on. I thought about getting Sonic Generations which is on sale for $7.99 or so, but downloading the demo I found it too hard to have any clue what the heck's going on when you're moving fast. Yes it's sort of always like this in Sonic but I really hate falling off the 'high speed' rails area just because I have no idea where you're supposed to jump the first time and then have to take the slow path. In the Sega Genesis sonics you sort of just go on autopilot in the high speed areas because there's only one way and you're not going to be able to tell where you're going anyway (one of the stages you actually move faster than the screen can scroll).

The average is up to $5.58. I've been playing Saint's Row, and it is pretty fun so far. It's goofy and a really light game (tonally, and difficulty-wise), and in a pack of games that released at ~$60 each, picking up this bundle of games for under $6 is an unbelievable deal.

There are 6 days left on this bundle.

Titan's Quest and some DLC pack for Red Faction: Armageddon were just added to the bundle. So this means anyone who already got it will get these items for free, and they are added to the additional content anyone who pays over the average price will receive.

I already have Titan's Quest, so if anyone wants it, please let me know.

Uhhh, they did that a few years ago, and it was starting to be a Stream tradition. Now, I go to the site, and they pretend that there's no such thing as Christmas.

Steam sales have always been rare and (almost always) unannounced.. Also the longest sale was fourteen days. In the past they have had a Halloween sale that lasts a few days, they just started having a sale for Black Friday that spans another handful of days last year, and the trend goes that the Holiday sales start on something like the 20th and go a few days into the new year. Summer sales have always been ~10 days. Forty is not a tradition they're building up to.

I put $0.01 on the bundle and it asked me to enter a captcha to prove I'm really human because I have no heart.

I noticed that the average has to be >6 to unlock the DLC for Dungeon Defenders, which is the only game I cared about. Given it was 7 games, I'd have to pay more than what the DLC costs directly from Steam.

Honestly these deals make a good case for piracy in that whoever is selling this stuff is going through so much effort to try to make you pay more for it even though at a first glance putting $0.01 ought to work, except it does not, so you might as well not bother with the developers at all. Just like 7 junky items don't trade for a SoJ in Diablo 2, having 7 bad games and 1 good game doesn't mean you should sell the bundle for $30. I guess it's a good deal if you happen to like a significant portion of the games offered there but if you do, you probably would've bought some of them already (I already have Dungeon Defenders, for example).

Edit: I guess the average refers to the bundle, though I'm not sure paying $6 for the DLC is even worth it just because they charge some absolutely ridiuclous amount of money for the Dungeon Defender DLCs. If you don't have Dungeon Defenders I guess that's worth it. I have no idea what the other games are but they seem to picked a variety of games that ensure the chance of overlapping interest is minimal.

Saw some random sales earlier but other than the one on 'controller friendly games' I didn't see anything that's really a large discount.

Too bad most of the games I'd want to get on Steam, I already have.

All Borderlands games/DLC are 50-75% off. So is any Hitman game.

That sounds like a large discount to me.

No I mean the sales prior to this one weren't really big, was mostly like 25% off random games, aside from the 'controller friendly game sale', which is pretty significant but only applies to games that were designed to be played by a controller (Sonic, for example). This one seems noteworthy so I'll check it out.

They vary Don, I usually don't buy any steam games unless they drop under $10 unless I plan to play it that day/week. :)

It's pretty rare to see any game that looks remotely decent fall under $10 though.

Too bad Twilight Frontier isn't on Steam. They're like the only Japanese Indie developers I know of that can actually make games as opposed to text scrolling books or SNES era sprites.

Borderlands GOTY ain't that great of a deal. $10 for the 4 expansions plus $5 or so for the game? You can get it on disc for that price on the PS3

I imagine most of the PC gamers here can run a much better version of Borderlands on their PCs. I don't know how drastic the differences are between PC and console for the first game, but from what I've seen, Borderlands 2 looks MUCH better on PC (as does just about every multiplatform game this year).

Borderlands was more of a port than the sequel, which they actually tailored for the PC. It's too bad the DLC for Borderlands 2 probably won't go on sale until all of it is out.

I remember spending 1-2 hours tinkering with port forwarding to get the original Borderlands working with multiplayer. I think they ended up patching that and the game largely made me forget the bad memories involved, but they really shit the bed with that. Also most of the DLC was panned in reviews. And I think we've all already played and beaten Borderlands lol

Most games use UPnP port forwarding, which most routers support.

I wasn't alone on port forwarding bullshit, it was a significant problem that affected a bunch of people at release. This wasn't some weird thing that was my fault because I skimped out on a shitty router.

If memory serves the host had to open specific ports (that weren't announced, on a website, or put on the tech support forums) or his friends couldn't join him in the game. So I had to jump from rumor mongering thread to rumor mongering thread to eventually find which random ass port I had to open. There were two people (Tessian was one of them) that I was playing the game at release with who had the exact same problem.

A quick search on google for Borderlands port forwarding clearly proves that I wasn't alone and that they screwed the pooch.

Wasn't saying it wasn't true, but most games don't have that problem, since it's all magical and automatic now.

It came out the first week of December it would be crazy if it had already been on sale and I missed it since I'm basically checking out Steam every day.

Oh, I must have seen it when it was released then. Yeah, you're SOL. They would never put it on sale this early from release.

New THQ bundle has netted me extra Darksiders and Red Faction: Armageddon codes. Please send me a PM if you want either or both of these games on steam.

Between Farcry 3 (i sort of put this game on the back burner), StarCraft 2 expansion, and now Bioshock... sadly, i'm probably good on games for the rest of the year!

Or, until about August, more realistically.

I found myself with steam keys for -

Dead Space and Mirror's Edge

and origin keys for -

Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box, Medal of Honor, and Mirror's Edge.

Anyone want any of these? PM me.

And yes, Origin is terrible. Free games are free games, though.

I have free copies of FTL, XCOM EU, Saints Row 2, Defense Grid, and Poker Night if anyone's interested. All on Steam unlike SOME people. It might take me a while to dig up the keys for FTL and Defense Grid though. The rest are just Steam trades.

Also I have no idea how I have an FTL key. I went into Humble Bundle where I'm pretty sure I've never really done anything with, looking for something associated with a Kickstarter I supported and apparently there's a free FTL key linked to my e-mail.

That sucks I wonder what the deal is with it being listed on Humble Bundle. I went into my e-mail and the only order I made around then was flowers for Mother's day.. so unless they had some weird ass promotion I have no idea what's going on there.

Bought the shit out of the comedy bundle they have up now. I'm a fan of everyone on there but Jim Norton who isn't too shabby from what I've seen of him.
