No No Kuni

I'm really on the fence about this one, ever since JRPGs introduced voice acting I've had a pretty low tolerance towards alot of them(Persona being the lone exception).

However this game looks pretty cool, but the child protagonist gives me pause, and I'm not sure how seriously I can take the plot/world.

Any of you played it yet?

I played the demo and really liked it.

My friend picked it up on Wednesday and already dropped about 25 hours into it. He's in love. He said the world is really cool and interesting and the voice acting is top notch. Plus, he loves that you capture creatures and use them in battle like Pokemon (only better).

BUUUUUUUUUUMP!

YOU GUYS. First JPRG I've played since FF13 and it's just fantastic. Initially I felt like I'd be compromising my adulthood by playing it... and it still feels a bit weird to be 30 and enjoying a game so much about a wizard boy and his magic pets, but I don't care anymore. The game is immensely charming and incredibly addictive.

If you want a nostalgic, super polished JRPG experience reminiscent of Dragon Quest 8, Skies of Arcadia (are you listening, Seeker?), Chrono Trigger, and Pokemon (I guess, never played any of em), this is a steal at $20 new -- either physical or download.

Just know you'll need at least 50 hours to complete it, probably more. I'm at 40 now and feel like I'm 1/2-to-3/4 finished, though I'm doing all of the side quest and bounty hunts.

Best JRPG I've played of this gen, though I haven't, and will not have, played Xenoblade.
