Ducktales Remastered - Impressions

In short, I get the same sort of vibe as I got with games like Sword of Mana; I find the enhancements get in the way of the spirit and enjoyment I had with the original... I do appreciate that they remade Ducktales, that they got the voice cast back to do some cutscenes; but this raises the dilemma of appreciating the cutscenes and wanting to continue to play on right away! There seem to be some small enhancements to the gameplay, the most noticeable are the boss battles. The 3D backgrounds are an interesting take, but I find they hurt the atmosphere of the original.
Overall, I think this is the sort of game that would be good for players who haven't played the original and are perhaps newer to gaming. For those that played the original, this HD remake is probably already ruined for you - it just feels like the enhancements detract for the experience that you might expect.
It's not that I dislike HD or 3D graphics, I love some of the 2D HD titles like Trine 2: Directors Cut. With Ducktales, I do feel the 8-bit original works better. At least it's my preference.
