I think this is the first Sony console to launch without a Ridge Racer game.
DOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

That bitch crashed on me in the middle of gameplay, we are having PC issues on consoles now.
We have come full circle. lol

Like you crashed out of the game into the launch menu and an error window popped up Win95 style? That crazy.

My Battlefield 4 saved game corrupted on my PS3 making me an entire level over again (on Hard, that means it was over an hour of extra time). It's been going on for a while

The difference is that when your Battlefield 4 saved game corrupted on your PS3, it only affected that game, and a nice simple reboot fixed it.
I'm getting reports from all PS4 games straight up crashing the system and making it power off, requiring a hard reset(Hold down power button for 10 seconds to enter safe mode).

Thanks for the bug testing, bro!
What did you get with the system? Is the dual shock 4 as super as advertised?

Killzone, Knack, Assassin's Creed 4, Need for Speed Rivals, Resogun are the ones I'm alternating between randomly. :p

No, nothing fixed the save state. I was fortunate that it still recognized which levels I had beaten so I could restart the level but not even the Sony rep could fix it so I could Resume Game. I had to hard reset every time I tried to Resume Game. I had to go to Replay Mission to be able to finish the game

Good news, Zeus! You may never have to pay for PSN.
1 week at a time? I ain't buying 52 games a year brand new on the PS4......
I am actually planning on buying 2 or 3 1-year memberships for $30 on Black Friday, though. I (yes, I) think it's worth it (hopefully you're sitting down when you read this) based on just the number of games I've already downloaded in the 4 months I've had it over the last 2 years (over 30). Unlike Gold, there's actually a good enough reason to get Plus (no, playing online ain't even a factor).
Man, check this out. I've already been using the words "marginal" and "not enough" when describing the jump in the "next-gen" graphics for cross-platform titles. This much more than solidifies it

1) Youtube compression is really, really bad.
2) PS4 Call of Duty was 720p when that video came out, it's 1080p after the patch.

Ha! No, I was referring to the old walk-through-EB-and-pilfer-unused-games'-promo-cards.

Looks like there's a lot of faulty consoles in the first batch.
Looks like Amazon is being awesome and shipping out replacements. More than one can say for what Sony appears to be doing - offering repairs that will likely take over half a month

Uhhh, Amazon isn't replacing shit. They'll give you a refund to my knowledge, and if they have any PS4s in stock you can exchange, but you basically have to catch them while they have them in stock heh.

Are you sure? I mean my source here is an Amazon review but that seems like a stupid place to lie.

Apparently, you guys, who have bought consoles for decades, hasn't learned a thing.

I still have 2 or 3 1 month Xbox Live Gold ones from GTA4 that are still valid :-)
Anyway, I bought one on a whim today - I needed a new Bluray player anyway. Funny thing was though, I literally did not want a single game. I grabbed Blag Flag, just because it would be retarded to bring home a system with no game.
When I stop getting a Network error on update, I will add my PSN name to the thread.

Resogun is some good oldschool arcade fun if you have PS+.

Don't Starve is also a good one to have. Killzone left much to be desired.
The post-Christmas slow season seems extra slow this year. I remember looking forward to Dead Space and others last year. Now, March seems like an eternity away, with only a strange 3DS RPG in between now and then.

If you don't have a PS4 yet, go to us.playstation.com, sign in, and "download" it to your account. That way when you do get your PS4 in a year when it may actually be worth it, you can play it for free then

I see what you did there.
Keep in mind this only works for Resogun, any other PS4 games that show up for free under PS plus you have to actually own a PS4 to register/buy them.

Yeah? It allowed me to "download" Don't Starve as well. I assume it works the same as the PS3 where it's linked to your account, not your system, and you can download your account to an X number of systems (it was 5 for the PS3). That way if you replace your system, you still have all the games linked to your account
Well, either way, I've got Plus 'til the end of 2016 and will certainly have a PS4 before then. I'll keep doing this and whatever games show up, show up. Otherwise, I've barely wasted any time
