In the near future, wielders of a new type of psychic power, known as “Seventh,” have emerged. Initially, it was believed that these gifted individuals would bring chaos to the world; however, a powerful conglomerate, the Sumeragi Group, has brought peace and order to the world.
…and this peace from Sumeragi came from the sacrifice of the psychics, a forced detention called “Psychic Protection,” where inhumane experiments were performed for the sake of “research”.
While all the actions of the Sumeragi group were carried out in confinement, it didn’t take long for a certain organization to uncover the truth and begin their resistance against the conglomerate. This group is known as the private militia, “Feather."
This anti-Sumeragi resistance group was made from a human rights group consisting of foreign psychics. The protagonist “Gunvolt” is also one of the psychics of Feather. The story begins when Gunvolt refuses his order to eradicate the virtual idol “Cyber Diva Morpho,” created by Sumeragi.
[MGV] is our little way of thanking our fans for buying Gunvolt, and supporting this kind of classic Japanese-style 2D action gaming that we don't want to see disappear. We hope it'll give a big smile — and maybe a laugh or two — to anyone who remembers the 8-bit days fondly, or even those just curious on what they missed out on back in the 'good old days.'

Looks like a direct ripoff from MMX4 + Dark Elf from MMZ and the Omega hack, but you might as well steal from the best. The only thing missing was there isn't someone who says, "I am the Messiah! Hahaha!" But why does the lead female look like she was inspired by Alouette when you can steal Ciel or Iris?
It just occured to me Ciel would literally be the easiest character to fill a Megaman themed game with. You'd have the 8 bosses named after birds in Frnech, Alouette, Lune/Soleil/Etoile, Dark Elf, System Ciel, and then use the design for Megaman Ciel and give her Omega's moveset.

This game seems to suffer from what I call the Darth Malgus theme syndrone, where in SWTOR every time they try to play his music in a story event it results either you or the boss dying before it even gets to the main theme because the music is very long compared to the battle length against the typical elite in SWTOR. From what I can tell the songs by Lumen are supposed to be important to the game but the song is way too long that it's going to end before it gets anywhere. If they really think her songs are that good, it should be the boss themes. It worked just fine for Scarlet Devil Castle and Scarlet Devil Castle 2 which is a very similar type of game (spinoff of relatively well known IP).
Some of Lumen's lines reminds me of Lightning, as in 'you're not cool enough to say things like that'. I realize it's not meant to be obnoxious like Lightning's "Hello everyone I rule" but it's so cheesy that only Ciel, damsel-in-distress who knows all 100 ways to destroy the Megaman world can say stuff like that. When Ciel says believe in hope, you can believe her because she knows all the ways to destroy the world! For anyone else, it's just cheesy.

Just videos.
This game seems to have the right idea but it doesn't present them well. I'm actually not that big on the old 'Megaman gameplay'. It's what it is and there probably isn't much room for improvement, so I care a lot more about presentation style. Strangely, I can't find much on nicovideo and had to go to Youtube. Apparently no one bothered uploading gameplay footage on the Japanese version of Youtube.

Here's an example of what I consider to be a good usage of song in a game. The guy beat it pretty darn fast and most of the song still finished, not to mention he skipped a minute worth of dialogue before the fight started while the song is going. In fact this is one of the best presented final battle in a game with extremely limited resources. If you know anything about Touhou Project, making Remilia look epic is borderline impossible, because she's way too cute to be ever considered epic, and it almost worked.

Looking at the story and the gameplay this game is like what if Enel in One Piece decided to take over the world, and the answer is very easily. They should have an optional Adept whose power is rubber. A lot of the time I feel bad for the bad guys in this game. They seem to be thoroughly outmatched against Gunvolt who is like a living god. I mean he's a guy that can randomly revive himself and become way stronger thanks to his Saiyan genes! It'd have been an awesome 'you are the boss' game if they went all the way, but they didn't quite all the way with that theme. From both the story and gameplay point of view I have no idea why anyone thought they'd be able to mess with Gunvolt even with the special anti-Septima weapons since he's elemental lightning he could just err, dodge it all.
I don't know what's up with the translation at all. It's almost like two different scripts and they randomly change stuff just because they can. The fire guy's super move is Sunshine Nova and you can still hear him say that but it's something else totally different in the English version. Copen's Lust Doppler is Doppler Desire and it's like what's the point? Spark Calibur become Luxcalibur. All their moves are in English to begin with in the Japanese version and they sounded perfectly fine, so I'm not even sure why they changed everything.

Looks pretty cool. Debating on whether to buy a 3DS. Don't really use my NDS much except during the occasional plane ride.
